Spent casing catch and release trap mechanism with clip
10684086 · 2020-06-16 ·

A receptacle for collecting casings ejected from a firearm applied with a magazine includes a housing having an upper opening, a lower opening, and an interior defined within the housing between and in communication with the upper and lower openings. The upper opening is opened and can be mounted to be spaced apart from the ejection port of a firearm. A gate in the lower opening pivots between open and closed positions; the lower opening is closed when the magazine is received in the firearm and is opened when the magazine is removed from the firearm. A clip couples the receptacle to the firearm.

Lower receiver

A lower receiver that may be right hand or left hand configurable is provided. The lower receiver includes a static ejector that can be easily configured for right hand or left hand positions within the same lower receiver and a magazine button assembly having a left magazine button and a right magazine button that are operatively coupled together so that either magazine button can be pushed to release the magazine. This allows the gun builder to use this one lower receiver to build a right or left handed rifle.

FIREARM SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ACCOMMODATING DIFFERENT BULLET CASING LENGTHS

A firearm includes a frame assembly, a slide assembly releasably and slidably coupled to the frame assembly, a bolt assembly including a leading surface, a firing pin, and an adjuster. The adjuster includes a body and an extension. The body defines a first bore, defines a leading surface, and has a thickness. The leading surface is configured to interface with a rear portion of a cartridge, and the body spaces the leading surface from the leading surface of the bolt assembly. The extension couples the body to the bolt assembly and defines a second bore that shares a common central axis with the first bore. The first bore and the second bore receive the firing pin such that the firing pin at least selectively protrudes from the leading surface of the adjuster to engage the cartridge.

Semi-automatic shotgun

A semiautomatic shotgun successfully uses the AR-10 receiver and the superior direct impingement gas system. A combination of locking lugs to maintain proper sequencing, a spring disposed inside of a gas impingement chamber, and a spring to cycle the action. Fouling is avoided using nickel-boron coated parts, permanent infusion of a dry film lubricant, and an angled gas port. A unique magazine feed lip and barrel extension feed ramp and the magazine maintaining the shells at a slight angle upward, and a bolt face having a rear facing partial bevel avoid jamming and snagging. The present invention also teaches raised gas tube and gas key to accommodate the larger bore of the shotgun. The combination achieves an AR-10 based shotgun which has the advantages of direct impingement cycling (less recoil, greater accuracy, etc) without fouling and/or jamming.

Fixed position firearm ejector
11953275 · 2024-04-09 ·

A fixed position ejector detachably connectable to a firearm is disclosed. The ejector comprises a base having an elevated forwardly extending finger, wherein the finger has an outer finger face configured for contacting a cartridge or case during the ejection phase of the firing cycle of the firearm. The base has forward and rear downwardly extending posts that are configured to engage into respective forward and rear retaining post holes positioned on the upper frame surface. At least one of the forward and rear posts includes a downwardly slanted notch. A retaining screw is provided to adjustably engage into both (i) a through-hole positioned adjacent and perpendicular to the upper frame surface of the firearm, and (ii) the slanted notch of one of the forward and rear posts such that the retaining screw urges the bottom base surface of the base against the upper frame surface of the firearm.

Firearm systems and methods for accommodating different bullet casing lengths

A firearm includes a frame, a slide assembly, an actuator, a bolt assembly, and an adjuster. The slide assembly includes a threaded bore, the slide assembly releasably and slidably coupled to the frame. The actuator includes a body and an extension, the extension protruding from the body. The bolt assembly includes a catch. The adjuster includes a first end, a second end, and a plurality of threads. The first end includes an interface configured to accommodate the extension of the actuator. The plurality of threads are disposed between the first end and the second end. The plurality of threads are configured to interface with the threaded bore of the slide assembly such that rotation of the adjuster within the threaded bore of the slide assembly by the actuator translates the bolt assembly and thereby facilitates firing ammunition having different casing lengths.

Axially relieved bolt face for blowback bolt firearms

A blowback bolt for a firearm has a distal bolt face having an axially relieved lower lip closest to the ammunition magazine. The axial relieved lip strips the lead cartridge from the magazine by contacting the rim of the cartridge and scoops it into the counterbore seat on the distal bolt face while maintaining contact with the rim. Chamfered lateral guides at the angular extremities of an arcuate upper guidewall restrict lateral movement of the rim during the scooping.
