Firearm grip safety
A passive safety for an AR platform firearm includes a sliding or pivoting rotating safety which is normally active to prevent trigger movement as would cause the firearm to discharge, and even when any active safety on the firearm is in a fire position. The passive safety is deactivated when an operator grips the firearm in a normal position to engage and pivot the trigger to discharge the firearm. Alternative embodiments are disclosed.

Alcohol-Sensitive Safety Locking Mechanism
A firearm configured to be selectively discharged by a user is disclosed. The firearm includes a frame including a body portion, a grip, and a trigger guard extending from the body portion to the grip and defining a trigger space therebetween. The firearm further includes a firing mechanism including a trigger, the firing mechanism being disposed at least partially within the frame so that the trigger extends downwardly into the trigger space. The firearm further includes a locking mechanism having a blood alcohol sensor configured to determine or approximate a blood alcohol content of the user based on alcohol within perspiration of the user and a lock assembly configured to receive a control signal that is based on the determined or approximated blood alcohol content of the user. The lock assembly is configured to enable and disable the firing mechanism based upon the received control signal.

Firearm trigger control device
A firearm trigger control device, which is adapted to control the displacement of a firearm's trigger, such as to enable the discharge of a projectile upon receiving a firing signal (e.g., at a timing determined as optimal for hitting a designated target).

Adjustable trigger safety system
An adjustable trigger safety system that replaces a handle or grip of a firearm is disclosed. The adjustable trigger safety system can have a frame that mounts to a portion of a firearm. A finger actuator is used to reposition an indicator that allows the main safety to rotate from a safe position to a fire position. The lower grip can have an accessory connector to connect external devices. The frame can house and provide pivot points for components located internally or partially internally to the frame, including a safety lever, an activation lever, and a safety cable. Rotation of the activation lever causes the main safety to rotate. The amount of pressure needed to move the safety and activation levers and deactivate the system is adjustable. The safety lever must be depressed before the activation lever, or the activation lever cannot be depressed. The finger actuator is ambidextrous.
Firearm safety feature
A novel firearm safety feature includes arresting surfaces for preventing the fall of a hammer in the event of a spontaneous failure of other firearm parts. In a particular embodiment a safety lug has an arresting surface and the hammer has a complementary arresting surface. In the event of a spontaneous failure, the arresting surface and the complementary arresting surface create a positive engagement and prevent the hammer from falling. In another embodiment, a grip safety includes an arresting surface and the hammer includes a complementary arresting surface. In the event of a spontaneous failure, the arresting surface and the complementary arresting surface create a positive engagement and prevent the hammer from falling.
