Recoil assembly for a machine gun
A receiver assembly for a rifle includes a receiver with a feed assembly configured for open-bolt operation. A feed cover is hingedly mounted to the receiver and includes a portion of the feed assembly, where the feed cover is movable between a closed position and an open position by pivoting about a hinge pin oriented along a longitudinal axis of the receiver. For example, the feed cover can pivot to one side of the receiver when in the open position. A rifle incorporating the receiver assembly is also disclosed.
Device for use in the humane slaughter of animals
A device for use in the humane slaughter of animals has a barrel and a cap arranged for limited reciprocal axial movement and urged to an inoperative position by a spring. A captive bolt is received in the barrel for reciprocal axial movement, the bolt being driven out of the barrel by a driving force provided by an explosive cartridge adapted to be received in a breech in the barrel. The cartridge is fired by striking a firing pin provided in the cap. The cartridge is mounted on a strip movable in response to a manual operation, and a registration device is provided between the strip and the cap to locate the cartridge relative to the open breech in the inoperative position. Movement of the barrel relative to the cap against the force of the spring places the cartridge in the breech and causes it to strike the firing pin to fire the cartridge and operate the captive bolt, the spring then returning the barrel and the cap to the inoperative position to open the breech and allow movement of the strip to remove the spent cartridge.

Take down release for firearm
A takedown mechanism for disassembly of a striker-fired pistol, including a takedown release comprising a spring and a pin disposed in the pistol frame adjacent its rear end, the spring to bias the pin towards the barrel end of the frame and disposed against a hard stop on the frame; a takedown bar having a sear contact surface and movable along the longitudinal axis of the frame from a first position to a second position, wherein the takedown release biases the takedown bar towards the barrel end of the frame, wherein, in the first position, the takedown bar is disposed between the takedown release and the slide stop, wherein longitudinal movement of the takedown bar towards the barrel end is limited by the slide stop, wherein, in the second position, the takedown bar is disposed in a forward position toward the barrel end of the frame to cause the sear contact surface on the takedown bar to contact the second leg of the sear to cause the sear to rotate away from the tab of the pistol striker such that the first leg of the sear no longer contacts the tab of the striker.
TOOLLESS FIRING PIN AND STRIKER REMOVAL SYSTEM
A toolless slide backplate for a firearm that comprises an extractor lock and a striker assembly lock. The extractor lock is dimensioned to cover and contact an extractor plunger when installed, and is held in place via an interplay with the extractor plunger. The striker assembly lock is dimensioned to cover the striker components when installed. The striker assembly lock covers the trigger connector of the frame of the firearm such that a disassembly opening is not required.

FIRING PIN RETAINER AND FIREARM OPERATING SYSTEM INCLUDING SAME
A firearm operating system includes a firing pin having a first end and a second end, An operating rod assembly includes an operating rod, a lug positioned at a first end of the operating rod, and a firing pin retainer extending from the lug. A bolt carrier includes a bolt carrier pocket structured to receive the firing pin retainer, and a bolt carrier cam pin opening. A bolt is structured to be received in the bolt carrier. The bolt includes a bolt cam pin opening. A cam pin is structured to be positioned through the bolt carrier cam pin opening and into the bolt cam pin opening. The first end of the firing pin extends through a firing pin opening of the cam pin to retain the cam pin. The firing pin retainer of the operating rod assembly engages the second end of the firing pin so as to retain the firing pin.

SEMI-AUTOMATIC OR FULLY AUTOMATIC FIREARM
A semi-automatic or fully automatic firearm (2) having a barrel (4), the rear end of which is in the form of a cartridge chamber (8), in which each round can be inserted from the rear; a breech body (6) that is movable in a longitudinal direction of the barrel between an open position for releasing the cartridge chamber (8) for reloading a round and a locking position that locks the cartridge chamber (8), wherein in the locking position the breech body (6) closes the cartridge chamber (8) at the rear and the cartridge casing acts as a thrust bearing, wherein the firearm (2) has a breech body locking device (20) that is designed to move a breech body lock from a breech body release position for releasing the breech body (6) to a breech body locking position for locking the breech body (6) and from the breech body locking position to the breech body release position, wherein the breech body locking device (20) has an electromagnet (24) for moving the breech body lock from the breech body release position to the breech body locking position, and/or an electromagnet (24) for moving the breech body lock from the breech body locking position to the breech body release position, as well as a firearm (2) with an electromagnetically driven firing pin (18).
TRIGGER-CYCLED FIREARM
Trigger-cycled firearms have a frame, a barrel, a bolt assembly connected to the frame in registration with the barrel and operable to reciprocate between a retracted position and a forward battery position, a trigger lever connected to the frame and operable to move between a forward rest position and a rearward actuated position, and the trigger lever operably connected to the bolt to move the bolt from the forward battery position to the retracted position and to release the bolt to the forward battery position and discharge the firearm in response to movement of the trigger lever from the forward rest position to the rearward actuated position when the bolt is in the forward position. There may be a connector bar pivotally connected to the frame and operably engaged to the bolt assembly and to the trigger lever. The connector bar may be slidably connected to the bolt assembly.
