A modular handgun system comprises an elongated universal trigger frame having a barrel locking block, a pair of slide rails, and an accessory rail. The trigger frame is adapted to have a trigger assembly mounted thereto. The system further comprises a grip frame having an elongated channel and a hand grip extending downwardly from the elongated channel. The trigger frame is removably mounted in the elongated channel of the grip frame. The accessory rail of the trigger frame is positioned forward of a forward end of the elongated channel of the grip frame so as to be exposed. The system further comprises a slide and barrel assembly slidably mounted on the slide rails of the trigger frame.

A number of embodiments of a firearm are disclosed where the firearm includes a magazine configured to hold the bolt in an open position when the magazine is empty. In one embodiment, the firearm includes a bolt stop mechanism that moves between a first position where it allows the bolt to cycle between an open position and a closed position and a second position where it holds the bolt in the open position. The magazine is configured to actuate the bolt stop mechanism to the first position when the magazine is empty.

A number of embodiments of a firearm are disclosed where the firearm includes a magazine configured to hold the bolt in an open position when the magazine is empty. In one embodiment, the firearm includes a bolt stop mechanism that moves between a first position where it allows the bolt to cycle between an open position and a closed position and a second position where it holds the bolt in the open position. The magazine is configured to actuate the bolt stop mechanism to the first position when the magazine is empty.

The invention relates to a lock system for a firearm having an arrangement composed of at least two lever arms; in a manner similar to a toggle lever, the lever arms are connected to an axle or shaft in articulating fashion; the resulting toggle lever can be pivoted to both sides of a dead point in which the arrangement is maximally extended; and one of the lever arms is embodied as a hammer for a firing pin.

The invention relates to a lock system for a firearm having an arrangement composed of at least two lever arms; in a manner similar to a toggle lever, the lever arms are connected to an axle or shaft in articulating fashion; the resulting toggle lever can be pivoted to both sides of a dead point in which the arrangement is maximally extended; and one of the lever arms is embodied as a hammer for a firing pin.

A slidable trigger assembly for a firearm is described. The slidable trigger comprises a main body housing a trigger and a sear and a slider, slidably coupled with the main body. The slidable trigger assembly may include a slide adjuster configured to set the sear at a target position with respect to the slider. Alternatively, the slider moves laterally in response to physical manipulation of the slidable trigger assembly to set the sear at a target position with respect to the slider.

A modular trigger control unit Is configured to be removably installed on a grip frame of a firearm and includes a locking block and a locking block pin. The trigger control unit has a protruding tab protruding rearward. The locking block includes slide rails extending forward, with each slide rail of the pair of slide rails having a flat wall extending downward with respect to the grip frame when the trigger control unit is installed on the grip frame. The trigger control unit is secured to the grip frame by: (1) the protruding tab received in a recess on an interior wall of a beavertail portion of the grip frame; and (2) the locking block pin traversing through a through hole on each flat wall such that removal of the trigger control unit from the grip frame requires removal of the locking block pin.

A modular trigger control unit Is configured to be removably installed on a grip frame of a firearm and includes a locking block and a locking block pin. A trigger assembly includes a trigger, a transfer bar having a distal end and a proximal end, the distal end of the transfer bar being coupled to the trigger and the proximal end having a step defined therein; and a sear configured to selectively engage the proximal end of the transfer bar.
