Rifle accuracy and noise suppression systems
A noise suppressor for mounting on a distal end of a rifle barrel. The suppressor is made up of an inner core component and an outer sleeve component which is received about the inner core component, creating a gas-receiving chamber between the two. The inner core component an internally threaded, barrel receiving end which receives and engages the exteriorly threaded end of the rifle barrel in overlapping fashion, an oppositely arranged exteriorly threaded end, and a central bore between the two ends which allows the passage of a bullet when the bullet is fired, firing of the bullet also setting off hot exhaust gases in the central bore. The inner core component has window openings for exhausting hot gases from the inner chamber into the surrounding outer chamber and also has an exterior longitudinal region forward of the central chamber, the exterior region having a series of longitudinally aligned, upwardly extending teeth formed therein for diverting the hot, high speed gases contacting the upwardly extending teeth.
Method and apparatus for securing a barrel to a receiver of a firearm
Methods and apparatuses for securing a barrel to a receiver are disclosed, including inserting the barrel into the receiver, wherein the receiver comprises a bore with three or more guiding surfaces, one or more threaded securing holes, and a receiver indexing flat and wherein the barrel comprises: a tenon, one or more anchor points, and a barrel indexing flat; making contact between the tenon and the three or more guiding surfaces of the bore; indexing the barrel indexing flat with the receiver indexing flat; threading one or more securing screws into the one or more threaded securing holes; and tightening the one or more securing screws onto the one or more anchor points in order to secure the tenon of the barrel against two of the three or more guiding surfaces. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Systems and methods for mounting barrels to firearms
Systems and methods for mounting a barrel to a firearm are disclosed herein. The firearm may include a barrel, an upper receiver, a hand guard assembly, a lower receiver, a pistol grip, a buttstock, and a trigger. A barrel extension may include internal threads, mounting protrusions, mounting apertures, an elongated front barrel extension portion, an elongated rear barrel extension portion, and a barrel extension mounting flange. The barrel extension may be sandwiched and secured in between the upper receiver and the hand guard assembly via clamping screws.
Compact survival firearm
A compact survival firearm is a rifle having an upper receiver body, a lower receiver body removably connectable to the upper receiver body and defining a transverse bore adapted to closely receive a takedown pin, a fastener connected to the upper receiver body and having a protruding portion protruding therefrom, the lower receiver body defining a space sized to closely receive the fastener, the protruding portion of the fastener having an end portion of a first width, and an intermediate portion of a second width less than the first width, and the space at least partially intersecting the transverse bore such that the intermediate portion of the fastener is clear of the bore to permit the presence of the takedown pin, and the end portion of the fastener prevents separation of the upper receiver from the lower receiver when a takedown pin is present in the bore.
Firearm having a dual cam, cock on close bolt action and a low creep sear and step trigger assembly
A bolt action firearm that cocks the firing pin upon closing the bolt and includes a cam pin with dual heads for a high velocity rimfire cartridge. In one embodiment, actuating the main spring while closing the bolt, instead of while opening the bolt, more uniformly distributes the physical energy required by the user over the bolt actuation cycle. The dual heads of the cam pin provide symmetric reactive forces with dual cam slots, thereby preventing the cam pin from skewing or canting within the cam slots. A safety system is provided for the trigger mechanism and a robust connecting systems for the stock.
GAS APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR GAS OPERATED FIREARMS
A gas operated firearm includes a barrel with an integrally formed gas block as one piece with the barrel. A barrel nut is assembled over the integral barrel and gas block, securing the rear barrel end to a firearm receiver. Gas tube or piston assembly and field replacement are enhanced, along with accommodation of increased size barrels and integral muzzle end devices, no longer limited by internal dimensions of separately added gas blocks.
Firearm having a dual cam, cock on close bolt action
FIREARM HAVING A DUAL CAM, COCK ON CLOSE BOLT ACTION
Gas-operated firearm
A gas-operated firearm with a lock housing, a guide rod projecting forward from the lock housing, as seen in the shooting direction, for a lock activation device, which is located so it can be displaced on the guide rod and which interacts with a lock for its movement between a locking position and an unlocking position, and a barrel with a gas withdrawal block fastened on the lock housing, which contains at least one gas withdrawal borehole that opens into the barrel, and a pressure piston that is guided so that it can be displaced in the gas withdrawal block for the displacement of the lock activation device against the force of a lock spring. A simplified installation and dismantling of the barrel can thus be made possible in that the barrel contains a rear part, which can be placed on the lock housing and can be firmly connected with it, and a front part, which freely projects from the lock housing, without a firm connection with the guide rod.
