A training pistol having a rigid barrel and operating with a conventional blowback system, including a frame, a slide and a barrel, including a slide stop device, a firing pin assembly and preferably including a slide lock which can be moved into a disassembly position in which it releases the movement of the slide toward the front. This release can only be achieved if there is no magazine in the magazine well of the frame and the slide is stopped. The barrel is fastened in the frame by a locking device that can be brought into a release position in which it releases the barrel. Additionally an unlocking gap is provided between the barrel and the slide, and when the gap is overcome, after the slide lock has moved into the disassembly position, an unlocking ramp provided on the slide forces the locking device into the release position.

The rear lug is configured to be supported by a portion of a locking block of the firearm prior to firing and during a portion of the recoil period. A fitting pad extending downward from a rear lug of the barrel can be adjusted to provide a customized fit of the barrel to a frame of the firearm. The modifications to the barrel assembly result in increased dwell time and accuracy of the firearm.

A mounting mechanism has a base upon which a rotating cam is mounted. The cam has a lobe which extends beyond the perimeter of the base when the cam is in a first position and remains within the perimeter of the base when the cam is in a second position. A detent is used to lock the cam in the first position. The detent includes a leaf spring positioned on the cam which defines a kink. The kink is engageable within a niche in the base when the cam is in the first position. An accessory attached to the mounting mechanism may be attached to a structure using the mounting mechanism. The base fits within a slot in the structure and the lobe of the cam engages the structure when the cam is in the first position to lock the mounting mechanism and the accessory to the structure.

The slide of the present invention includes a void intermediate the sidewall and the extractor housing. A shim is provided to be secured within the void.

A barrel passes through the slide and is fixedly mounted on the frame. A slide lock mechanism locks the slide during firing of the pistol and is arranged in the front portion of the frame under the barrel. The slide lock mechanism includes a front seat formed on a front arm of a two-armed lever, a locking member mounted in the front seat, a rear seat formed on a rear arm of the two-armed lever, and a damping member mounted in the rear seat. The locking member and the damping member are pushed upwards to the front seat and the rear seat by a locking spring. A support surface is formed on the rear arm of the two-armed lever and extends to an aperture in the frame.
