A device to secure and hold an ammunition magazine includes a block using a channel, a receiving ramp, and a slider to accommodate a variety of sizes for the magazine. The block can be made of metal or plastic. The block includes a front edge and a back edge. The front edge includes an opening for the receiving ramp. The metal block also includes side edges. A first side edge includes a machine hole to receive a thrust bolt having a knob that turns to move the slider within the channel. The second side edge is removable and borders the receiving ramp. The slider extends into the receiving ramp as moved by the thrust bolt to secure the magazine. The receiving ramp descends at an angle from the front edge to the back edge to accommodate the magazine.

A firearm mount, components thereof, and associated methods. The firearm can be configured for use with an AR-15 style firearm or other type of firearm. The firearm mount is adapted to securely hold the firearm assembly in position for cleaning, maintenance, and/or gunsmithing tasks. The firearm mount can include a lock configured to selectively lock and unlock a firearm assembly thereon.

The apparatus is comprised of a recoil rest pad for receiving and supporting a gun's recoil pad and ensuring that it does not become damaged, a barrel support pad for securing the barrel of the gun within an interior diameter that is larger than the diameter of the barrel, and an opening that can be stretched, but wherein the opening—in its unstretched state—is less wide than the diameter of the barrel, and an attachment mechanism for attaching the apparatus to a vehicle. Moreover, the various elements of the invention are connected by a fabric-type element, which makes the apparatus lightweight, and easy to pack-up and stow when not in use.

An external lock apparatus for a gun includes a gun receptacle. The gun receptacle is configured to receive a portion of the gun. An external lock is configured to engage with the portion of the gun when the gun is inserted into the gun receptacle. The external lock has on OPEN position and a LOCKED position. The external lock further includes an interference member. The interference member is configured to engage with the gun such that the gun cannot be removed from the gun receptacle and the gun cannot fire when the portion of the gun is received within the gun receptacle and the external lock is in the LOCKED position. In the alternative, the gun cannot be fired but can be removed from the gun receptacle if the portion of the gun is received within the gun receptacle and external lock is in the OPEN position.
