FIREARM SAFING ASSEMBLIES AND FIREARMS INCLUDING THE SAME
20210131757 · 2021-05-06 ·

Firearm safing assemblies and firearms including the same are disclosed. In embodiments firearm safing assemblies include a safing sector with a track surface and a receiver door track. The receiver door track may couple to a receiver of a rotatable firearm, wherein the receiver includes a bolt track and at least a portion of the receiver extends coaxially about a first axis. The safing sector is configured to be at least partially disposed within the receiver door track and to move between a safe position and an armed position. In the safe position the track surface is out of alignment with and does not form part of the bolt track, whereas in the armed position it is aligned with and forms part of the bolt track.

Separate-loading Firearm with Resistive Ignition
20210025667 · 2021-01-28 ·

A separate-loading firearm, which may be configured as a muzzle-loading pepperbox pistol, uses a battery-powered electric resistance heating element to ignite a propellant. A relatively long current pulse, which may be of controllable duration, is used to ignite the propellant and a much shorter pulse may be used to test the integrity of the heater. Detection of the firearm's recoil may be used to terminate the relatively long firing pulse, which can increase the service life of the heating element and reduce the current drain from the battery.

Revolving battery machine gun with electronically controlled drive motors
10871336 · 2020-12-22 ·

A Gatling type machine gun system whose rotational operation of subsystems is accomplished by way of a plurality of electronically controlled motors. The Gatling type gun system includes a core gun, a feeder subsystem, and a transfer subsystem each of which must operate at particular instance and speed to accomplish the proper operation of the gun system. Control of the gun and subsystems is provided by electronically controlled motors.

Gatling gun with magazine feed mechanism

A Gatling gun with a magazine feed mechanism for use with a spring-loaded magazine. The magazine feed mechanism is configured to transfer spring-loaded rounds from the magazine into successive chambers of the plurality of chambers in the Gatling gun. The magazine feed mechanism chambers rounds from the spring-loaded magazine as the gun's bolt carrier rotates during firing.

Firearm bolt assemblies and firearms including the same are described. In embodiments the firearm bolt assemblies are configured to localize compressive forces applied during a transition from an initial position to a firing position to a first cam system on one side of the firearm bolt assembly, and to localize compressive forces applied during a transition from the firing position to the initial position to a second cam system another side of the firearm bolt assembly. Localizing the forces in that manner enables the use of a first cam system that is relatively robust compared to the second cam system.
