Open Frame Reflex Pivot Mechanics
20220178653 · 2022-06-09 ·

A reflex sight to sight a weapon, such as a firearm, comprises a frame carried by a base. The frame carries a mirror and an illumination source, such as an LED, spaced-apart and in a fixed relationship with respect to one another with the illumination source directed towards the mirror at a fixed orientation. A spindle is carried by the frame and disposed between the frame and the base about which an orientation of the frame with respect to the base is adjusted. The spindle has a vertical shaft extending between the base and the frame, with the frame capable of swiveling horizontally on the vertical shaft to adjust for azimuth. The spindle also has a horizontal axle extending between the vertical shaft and the frame, with the frame vertically pivotal on the horizontal axle to adjust for elevation.

LOCKING ADJUSTMENT DEVICE
20220170717 · 2022-06-02 ·

A locking adjustment device for adjusting a setting of an aimed optical device, such as a riflescope, locks at a home or baseline position to provide expedient feedback regarding an adjustment position of the adjustable setting. The device includes a knob mountable for rotation about a rotational axis when the adjustment device is installed on the aimed optical device, where the knob is rotatable about the rotational axis. The device further includes a catch that automatically locks the knob in the home or baseline position and prevents further rotation of the knob until the catch is released. A lock-release mechanism carried by the knob is manually actuatable to disengage the catch and allow the knob to be manually rotated away from the locked position.

Compact prismatic optical sight with internal zeroing method

An optical system includes an aperture stop configured to direct light through the optical system, an inverting prism assembly configured to receive light from the aperture stop and direct light through the optical system, and a field stop configured to receive light from the inverting prism assembly and direct light through the optical system to an operator of the optical system. A point-of-impact is identified in object space and a point-of-aim is identified in afocal space of the optical system. The inverting prism assembly is configured to be pivoted about a center of the aperture stop to effect alignment of the point-of-impact and point-of-aim in the afocal space so that the point-of-aim is coincident with the optical axis.

A slide assembly for a pistol includes a slide, a firing pin, a firing pin spring and a firing pin retainer. The firing pin retainer includes left-side and right side flat surfaces disposed on the rails of the firing pin retainer on the top side. A rear sight is providing having a bottom side having a pair of threaded mounting holes. A pair of threaded mounting fasteners each having a head is provided to mount the sight on the slide. A pair of threaded mounting holes of the slide is coaxial with the threaded mounting holes of the rear sight, wherein the threaded mounting fasteners extend through the rear sight mounting holes in the slide and into the pair of mounting holes in the rear sight, wherein, when the firing pin retainer is fully seated in the grooves of the slide, the heads of the fasteners are captured by the flat surfaces of the firing pin retainer.

Quick adjustment apparatus

The apparatus features a rotating collar and a static collar, in which one collar has an adjustment lever. The rotating collar is attached to a rotating portion of a focus knob for a device, which in one example is a night vision device. The static collar is attached to a non-rotating portion of the device immediately adjacent to the focus knob. The movement of the rotating collar and the focus knob that the rotating collar is attached to is constrained by mechanical interference between a static stop, the adjustment lever, and an adjustable stop.

11181341 · 2021-11-23 ·

A sight device for a firearm having a base, a sight arm, a rear sight slide, and at least one rear sight piece having a rear sight. The sight arm engages the base and is pivotable in a pivot direction relative thereto about a pivot axis. The rear sight slide, arranged proximate a free end of the sight arm, is displaceable relative to the sight axis and the pivot direction relative to the sight arm, and is fixed on the sight arm in an adjusted setting position. The rear sight slide includes a receptacle with retaining structures for removably engaging the rear sight piece. A latch section of a spring-loaded latch piece on the rear sight slide engages in a latch receiver on the rear sight piece when the rear sight piece is inserted into the receptacle and holds the rear sight piece in a fixed position.
