An optic guard for a firearm may include: a frame; and a bracket having a first side to attach to a firearm assembly, the bracket integrally formed with the frame or fixably attached to the frame at a second side of the bracket. The frame may be arranged to protect a top and sides of the optic when the first side of the bracket is attached to the firearm assembly. In some embodiments, the second side of the bracket defines an optic attachment, wherein the frame protects the top and sides of the optic when the optic is coupled to the bracket using the optic attachment. In some embodiments, the first side of the bracket may define a protrusion or opening to mate with an opening or protrusion in front of an optic mounting platform.

Riflescope cap assembly

A scope cap assembly for mounting on a scope of a firearm is provided, including a resilient sleeve for mounting to the scope of the firearm; a support body fixed to the resilient sleeve and including a mounting portion; a cap defining an aperture and pivotably mounted to the support body and movable between a closed position and an open position greater than 180 degrees from the closed position; a biasing member for biasing the cap towards the open position; a retaining mechanism for releasably securing the cap at an intermediate position between the closed position and the open position; and a first removable disc configured for placement within the second aperture and defining a annular protrusions for cooperating with annular flanges of the cap to secure the first removable disc in the cap.

Internal retainer

A retainer system is provided for tethering a cap to a body on an optic, where the cap and body define an inner cavity. The retainer system includes a lanyard and an inner attachment. The lanyard is fixed on a first end to a surface of the cap facing the inner cavity. The inner attachment is fixed on a first end to a second end of the lanyard and is fixed on a second end to an inside wall of the body facing the inner cavity. When the cap is closed on the body, the lanyard and inner attachment are contained completely within the inner cavity.
