Flash and streak detection and persistent identification using bi-directional detector/display overlay

An optical system has an underlying device configured to provide output light. A transparent optical device optically coupled to the underlying device transmits light from the underlying device through the transparent optical device to display a scene. The transparent optical device includes detector elements formed in an active area to detect light portraying at least a portion of the scene. The underlying device has transparent regions formed in the active area to allow light to pass through from the underlying device to a user. The optical system further includes an image processor that processes images produced using light detected by the detector elements to identify a specific instance of light in the scene. The image processor causes display elements in the active area of the transparent optical device to display an indicator, in the scene, correlated to the specific instance of light.

Viewing optic with an integrated display system

The disclosure relates to a viewing optic. In one embodiment, the disclosure relates to a viewing optic having an integrated display system. In one embodiment, the disclosure relates to a viewing optic having an integrated display system for generating images that are projected into the first focal plane of an optical system.

TARGET ACQUISITION SYSTEM FOR AN INDIRECT-FIRE WEAPON
20230140441 · 2023-05-04 ·

The application relates to a target acquisition system according to one embodiment for an indirect-fire weapon. The system includes a terminal device, a sensor unit for the terminal device, an unmanned aircraft and a control device for the aircraft. The terminal device is adapted to receive, from the control device-controlled aircraft, location data (LD, PW, DT, LT) related to a target's location (LT). The sensor unit is adapted to monitor the weapon's position. The terminal device is adapted to present, with a user interface unit, the target's location on the basis of the received location data and a calculated hit point (LH) for the weapon's projectile on the basis of the weapon's position. The terminal device is adapted to indicate, with the user interface unit, when the weapon has been aimed in such a way that, on the basis of its position, the projectile's calculated hit point is in alignment with the target's location, whereby, when the weapon is discharged, its projectile strikes the designated target

TRACKED BULLET CORRECTION

Systems, devices, and methods for determining a time of flight (TOF) of a first bullet fired from a gun to pass a target plane of a target; determining a location of an aimpoint on the target in an imager field of view (FOV) relative to a disturbed reticle at a time the first bullet is fired by the gun; determining a location of the first bullet relative to the location of the aimpoint on the target at the TOF in the imager FOV; and determining an updated location of the disturbed reticle based on a difference between the location of the first bullet and the location of the aimpoint on the target at the time the first bullet crosses the target plane and a difference between the location of the disturbed reticle and the location of the aimpoint on the target at the time the first bullet was fired.

RETROREFLECTOR ARRAY AND COVER FOR OPTICAL BULLET TRACKING

Systems, devices, and methods including a bullet; a retroreflector array adhered to a base of the bullet, the retroreflector array having prism facets with a periodicity between 0.2 mm-2.0 mm; and a cover disposed over the retroreflector array and hermetically sealed at the base of the bullet; where the cover is disposed over the retroreflector array in a first position prior to firing, and where the cover is released from the base of the bullet in a second position after firing.

Optically tracked projectile

A projectile, that can be tracked by optical means, is fitted with a special tracer incorporated into the projectile's trailing edge. The rearward facing special tracer is incorporated into a metal disk which is crimped to the projectile's metal jacket. The special tracer includes micro-prismatic features that reflect light at the incidence angle. Alternatively, the disk incorporates a fluorescent dye that is responsive to a laser emission. External emitted radiation is reflected or re-emitted from the trailing edge of the projectile, allowing for an external electro-optic tracking device to identify the position of the projectile in flight.

Devices and methods of rapidly zeroing a riflescope using a turret display
11680773 · 2023-06-20 · ·

A turret display device is used for rapidly zeroing a riflescope. The turrets on an improved riflescope provide a turret position signal. A display of the turret display device comprises turret display cross hairs displayed relative to a target icon. When the turret display device receives a turret position signal, turret display cross hairs move to show the relative movement as indicated by the received turret position signal. When a distance is processed by the turret display device, the turret display cross hairs move to show an aiming point relative to a target icon based on the current zero of the riflescope. The user zeroes the riflescope to any distance by turning the turrets until the turret display cross hairs are centered for the desired distance. In some embodiments the turret display device is integrated into a hand held rangefinder, smart phone, or riflescope. A riflescope having turrets which each provide a turret position signal.
