Thermal gunsights
A gunsight for aiming a firearm may comprise a display and an eyepiece optic positioned rearward of the display for allowing a user to view the display through the eyepiece optic and a motion sensing module. The eyepiece optic may comprise one or more eyepiece lenses. Circuitry of the gunsight is operatively coupled to the microbolometer and the display. The circuitry may comprise one or more processors and a non-transitory computer readable medium storing one or more instruction sets. In some embodiments, the one or more instruction sets include instructions configured to be executed by the one or more processors to receive a stream of motion signals from the motion sensing module and display an image to the user in response to the stream of motion signals.
Interactive Weapon Targeting System Displaying Remote Sensed Image of Target Area
Systems, devices, and methods for determining a predicted impact point of a selected weapon and associated round based on stored ballistic information, provided elevation data, provided azimuth data, and provided position data.
LONG DISTANCE SHOOTING TOOL FOR TARGET IDENTIFICATION, COMMUNICATION, AND BALLISTIC DATA
Provided is a tool for providing long distance shooters with the ability to receive information from others in the field to adjust their weapon system for the best advantage based on distance, location, and range. The tool may implemented as an application on a mobile device such as a smart phone, for example, making the tool light weight, space efficient, and portable for use in the field. The communication ability allows for tracking shooting partners as well as on-the-spot coordination. The tool further provides range markings, yard lines, and topographic data that allow the shooter to make decisions based on real time data. Shooters are therefore afforded a tool that is portable, easy to use, and flexible enough to use in high-pressure environments.
Sighting device for vehicle and associated vehicle
The vehicle delimits an interior space from an exterior space. The sighting device includes: a support defining an interior volume, an optronic head adapted to rotate about an axis, an optical path comprising: a collecting optical unit for collecting a portion of the surroundings of exterior space, adapted to rotate about the axis; and an optical transport system including a plurality of optical components, portion of the components being, in the interior space and the other portion being in the interior volume; a drive means driving the optronic head and the collecting optical unit so that the ratio between the angle of rotation of the head and the angle of rotation of the collecting optical unit is substantially equal to 1.
Automated fire control device
A device that causes a weapon to fire upon a target when the weapon is enabled by an operator, and when the weapon point of impact passes through a target or in a proximity thereto and when the target satisfies certain criteria as determined by one or more sensors/designations. This invention represents a significant paradigm shift. Some prior art (large scale) weapons automatically acquire/track/prioritize/target/fire upon targets without operator intervention (i.e. Phalanx). Most prior art weapons, especially but not limited to small arms, are manually aimed, and fire immediately upon an input (trigger pull, or equivalent) from the operator. The current invention is a novel approach which triggers the release of a round, multi-round burst, rocket, missile, or other projectile(s) when enabled by the operator, and when the target passes through the point of impact (or desired/computed proximity thereto), relieving the operator of the split second judgment in timing the release and/or cessation of such fire. The results intended include a reduction in off-target rounds fired, increased hit rate, conservation of ammunition, more effective targeting for non-motion-stabilized weapons (in particular small/medium arms), and the introduction of a backup mode for nominally motion-stabilized weapons which may allow effective operations when primary stabilization systems fail or are overwhelmed by dynamics. This invention is applicable (in embodiments of varying complexity) to weapons ranging from handheld pistols to the main (artillery) gun of a tank, a ship, or the cannon aboard an aircraft.
Viewing optic with an integrated display system
The disclosure relates to a viewing optic. In one embodiment, the disclosure relates to a viewing optic having an integrated display system. In one embodiment, the disclosure relates to a viewing optic having an integrated display system for generating images that are projected into the first focal plane of an optical system.
TARGET ACQUISITION SYSTEM FOR AN INDIRECT-FIRE WEAPON
The application relates to a target acquisition system according to one embodiment for an indirect-fire weapon. The system includes a terminal device, a sensor unit for the terminal device, an unmanned aircraft and a control device for the aircraft. The terminal device is adapted to receive, from the control device-controlled aircraft, location data (LD, PW, DT, LT) related to a target's location (LT). The sensor unit is adapted to monitor the weapon's position. The terminal device is adapted to present, with a user interface unit, the target's location on the basis of the received location data and a calculated hit point (LH) for the weapon's projectile on the basis of the weapon's position. The terminal device is adapted to indicate, with the user interface unit, when the weapon has been aimed in such a way that, on the basis of its position, the projectile's calculated hit point is in alignment with the target's location, whereby, when the weapon is discharged, its projectile strikes the designated target
RETROREFLECTOR ARRAY AND COVER FOR OPTICAL BULLET TRACKING
Systems, devices, and methods including a bullet; a retroreflector array adhered to a base of the bullet, the retroreflector array having prism facets with a periodicity between 0.2 mm-2.0 mm; and a cover disposed over the retroreflector array and hermetically sealed at the base of the bullet; where the cover is disposed over the retroreflector array in a first position prior to firing, and where the cover is released from the base of the bullet in a second position after firing.
REMOTELY OPERABLE WEAPON MOUNT
A weapon mount for controlling targeting of a weapon includes a base, an arm that extends from the base, and an attachment component that is rotatably coupled with the arm. The base is attachable to a platform and is rotatable to control a yaw of the weapon relative to the platform. The attachment component is configured to couple with the weapon and is rotatable to control a pitch of the weapon relative to the platform. The arm is positioned relative to the base so that a recoil vector of the weapon is within 0.5 inches radially of an axis of rotation of the base.
Aiming and alignment system for a shell firing weapon and method therefor
A system and method for aiming and alignment of a shell firing weapon includes a portable aiming unit that may be located in close proximity to the weapon that includes a reference head for emitting and/or receiving at least one energy ray. The portable aiming unit can be aligned to a reference azimuth, either absolute or relative. A sighting unit is also included in the system and removably mounted to the weapon. The sighting unit includes a reference head that is complementary to the reference head of the portable aiming unit. The at least one energy ray established between the portable aiming unit and the sighting unit provides an accurate relative reference of directing the weapons fire and monitoring linear and angular displacement of the weapon as it is fired so that corrections can be made in aiming the weapon in response thereto.
