A flashlight assembly includes a body having a head portion at one end and an opposing tapered tail portion and a clamping assembly on a bottom side of the body. The tail portion of the body tapers rearwardly towards a tail end thereof and downwardly from an upper side towards the bottom side, such that the tail end of the tail portion merges with the bottom side of the body and forms an inclined contoured surface extending from the bottom side to the top side. A contoured switch is mounted within the inclined angled surface of the tapered tail portion, and includes a safety bail pivotably movable to selectively mechanically impede operation of the switch.

This system comprises a cooperation between the rotating stock butt and the rotating sighting device that allows the firing mechanism and the barrel to be off set to either the right or to the left of the stock butt while the rotating sighting device and sight bead remains on the top center of the firearm. This allows the shooter to mount the gun with very little head movement.

A handguard attachment assembly for a firearm is disclosed. The assembly includes a handguard with an elongate structure extending between a first end and a second end, where the handguard has at least one opening proximate the first end. A flange insert is received in an opening on a first side of the handguard and engages the handguard. A fastener secures the flange insert to a connector positioned over the barrel nut. The fastener can be tightened to draw the handguard to the barrel nut. The connector can be a bridge connector positioned on or over the barrel nut within the handguard, or can be a connector with a flange portion that engages the second side of the handguard and has a connector body that extends towards the flange insert on the first side, to name a few examples.
