OPTICAL DEVICE
Provided is an optical device that involves a simple attachment operation without the need for an adjustment process. The optical device includes a transparent body portion having a plurality of curved faces on its outer peripheral surface; and a blind-spot-side outward facing curved reflecting mirror, a blind-spot-side inward facing curved reflecting mirror, an eve-point-side inward facing curved reflecting mirror, and an eye-point-side outward facing curved reflecting mirror, which are integrally formed with the body portion. The body portion has formed therein an optical path that allows a light beam reflected by the blind-spot-side outward facing curved reflecting mirror to be sequentially reflected by the blind-spot-side inward facing curved reflecting mirror and the eye-point-side inward facing curved reflecting minor and then reach the eye-point-side outward facing curved reflecting mirror.
Viewing Instrument
The invention relates to a viewing instrument (1) for observing the surroundings and aiming at targets in the surroundings of a vehicle, in particular an armored vehicle, comprising an eyepiece unit (2) and an objective unit (3) and comprising s an optical waveguide bundle (4), which connects the objective unit (3) and the eyepiece unit (2) to each other, wherein the optical waveguide bundle (4) transmits an image of the surroundings, which is focused by the optical unit of the objective unit (3) onto the objective-side end of the optical waveguide bundle (4), to the eyepiece unit (2), wherein a reticle (6) is arranged in an intermediate image plane, in which the optical unit (5) of the eyepiece unit (2) focuses the transmitted image of the surroundings as an intermediate image, and is rotatable about the optical axis (7) relative to the intermediate image.
Viewing Instrument
The invention relates to a viewing instrument (1) for observing the surroundings and aiming at targets in the surroundings of a vehicle, in particular an armored vehicle, comprising an eyepiece unit (2) and an objective unit (3) and comprising an optical waveguide bundle (4), which connects the objective unit (3) and the eyepiece unit (2) to each other, a drive device (5), which moves a lens system (6) of the objective unit (3) along the optical axis, specifically between two or more positions, every one of which being assigned to a different field of view setting, wherein the drive device (5) comprises a force transmission means (7) which connects the eyepiece unit (2) to the objective unit (3) and transmits a manual adjustment force from the eyepiece unit (2) to the objective unit (3).
SIGHTING DEVICE FOR VEHICLE AND ASSOCIATED VEHICLE
The vehicle delimits an interior space from an exterior space.
The sighting device includes: a support defining an interior volume, an optronic head adapted to rotate about an axis, an optical path comprising: a collecting optical unit for collecting a portion of the surroundings of exterior space, adapted to rotate about the axis; and an optical transport system including a plurality of optical components, portion of the components being, in the interior space and the other portion being in the interior volume; a drive means driving the optronic head and the collecting optical unit so that the ratio between the angle of rotation of the head and the angle of rotation of the collecting optical unit is substantially equal to 1.
Angle Mirror With Backup Sight
The invention relates to an angle mirror including a backup sight. The angle mirror includes a housing connected to a mirror head and a lower part. An objective is arranged outside of the housing and is connected to the housing by an optical connection, for example a fiber optic line, that does not require electrical power or current to transmit the image from the objective. The mirror head and the objective provide separate images to a first insight and a second insight, respectively. The objective functions as a backup or auxiliary sight of the surrounding environment even in the event of a power failure.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR FACILITATING TRANSPORTATION OF AN OBSERVER IN A VEHICLE
Systems and methods for facilitating transportation of an observer in a vehicle include providing video images of an environment of the vehicle from a plurality of cameras having partly overlapping field of views, detecting an orientation of the observer's head, combining the video images to provide a first video image of a first section of the environment of the vehicle, and presenting a second video image of a second section of the environment of the vehicle. The second section is a subset of the first section and corresponds to the detected orientation of the observer's head. The first section is a proper subset of the environment seen by the plurality of cameras. The detecting and presenting are repeated after a predetermined time-period that is short enough not to cause nausea for the observer.
MOUNTING SYSTEM ADAPTER AND CHASSIS
A mounting system and method that provides simplified mounting points and attachment interfaces for associated components. Specifically, the system and method generally comprise a mounting system, including a new support chassis, which allows for a Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) aiming system which was built to be placed in an infantry system for a TOW missile, to be used in a vehicle mounted ISU system.
Periscope with a reflector forming a light tight seal
A periscope includes an object window 4, a first reflector 5, a second reflector 6; and an intermediate port between the first reflector 5 and the second reflector 6. The first reflector 5 is arranged to reflect light from the object window 4 towards the second reflector 6 through the intermediate port. The second reflector 6 is selectively movable between a first position of use in which the second reflector 6 reflects light from the first reflector 5 towards a viewing position and a second position of use in which the second reflector 6 closes the intermediate port.
