A school children rescue vehicle is provided. The vehicle includes an electric mobility scooter assembly. The vehicle includes a protective shell configured to attach to the assembly. The protective shell includes a plurality of hardened flat panels configured to connect between themselves and form an overall 5-sided shaped enclosure and arranged to fit on top of and connect to the electric mobility scooter assembly and structured to provide projectile protection for personnel situated within the protective shell. The shell includes a plurality of viewing ports of bullet proof glass positionable within the hardened flat panels and configured to provide line of sight viewing for personnel inside the protective shell. The overall external dimensions of the protective shell are such that the vehicle can maneuver within tight enclosed spaces. The vehicle functions as a deterrent to school violence and as a rescue vehicle for an active shooter situation.

Multi-tiered recoiling energy absorbing system with lateral stabilizer

A multi-tiered recoiling energy absorbing system has an upper impact surface that is exposed to percussive impact. At least one energy absorbing layer is positioned below or inside the upper impact surface. The energy absorbing layer includes one or more energy absorbing modules. At least some of the modules are provided with one or more energy absorbing units that extend from an upper platform. Several of the energy absorbing units are provided with a flexible wall that extends from the upper platform. A lateral reinforcement member secures the energy absorbing units to prevent them from splaying. The energy absorbing units at least partially absorb energy generated by an impacting object due to the flexible wall bending inwardly or outwardly and recoiling nondestructively after single or multiple impacts to its un-deflected configuration.

Blast energy attenuating recoverable seat insert

A vehicle includes a chassis and a seating system. The seating system includes a frame coupled to the chassis, a seat cushion supported by at least one of the frame and a floor of the vehicle, a first recoverable insert configured to provide a first energy attenuation response, and a second recoverable insert configured to provide a second energy attenuation response different than the first energy attenuation response. The seat cushion defines a cavity shaped to interchangeably receive either the first recoverable insert or the second recoverable insert to thereby selectively vary an energy attenuation provided by the seating system.

ACCESS HATCH FOR AN UNMANNED TURRET OF AN ARMORED VEHICLE

An armored vehicle, or battle tank, has a turret, the backplane of which has a hatch allowing access to an inner volume of the turret from the inner volume of the vehicle body. The access hatch has a rectangular-shaped opening and includes a plate for closing up the opening in the form of a plurality of sectors able first to slide in a translational movement in a horizontal movement section and next to be stacked on one another in a vertical stacking section, during the opening of the hatch, the sections being located superimposed in or above the backplane. The access hatch sectors and the backplane include ballistic protection in the form of a metal armor plate covered with an anti-spall coating.

Turret with retractable protective roof

An armoured vehicle turret that can accommodate a crew including a gunner includes: a fixed roof with an opening; a retractable protection system having an armoured cover or dome, that is pivotably movable about a horizontal axis and/or in vertical translation, the retractable protection system being capable of assuming: a first position in which the retractable protection system is retracted against the roof and ensures a closing of the opening; a second partial open position in which the retractable protection system is partially deployed in vertical translation upwards so as to protect a soldier in an observation position; a third partial open position in which the retractable protection system is partially deployed in vertical translation upwards more so than in the second position, so as to protect the soldier in a sniper position; and a fourth fully open position in which the retractable protection system is fully deployed.

ARMOR AND VEHICLE

To parry a blast caused by an explosive object, absorb explosive energy, and improve durability. An armor to be installed on a bottom surface of a vehicle, including: a bottom plate formed to have a shape in which a central portion protrudes downward, and a porous metal member-disposed on the upper side of the bottom plate.

Armored cab for light tactical vehicles

An armored cab comprises a top wall, two side walls, a front wall, a back wall, and a bottom wall, the cab having a longitudinal axis. The bottom wall comprises a generally centrally disposed downwardly facing smooth concave wall portion extending substantially an entire length of the cab and generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the cab and forming a power train tunnel of the cab, and a pair of opposite laterally disposed wall portions extending substantially the entire length of the cab and generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the cab, each of the opposite laterally disposed wall portions extending downwardly and laterally inwardly and terminating in a lowermost portion of the bottom wall on either lateral side of the concave wall portion. The concave wall portion and the opposite laterally disposed wall portions are configured so as to present a substantially reduced surface area of the lowermost portions of the bottom wall in a downwardly facing direction. The armored cab includes various additional features that improve occupant survivability.
