Disclosed are systems and methods of heating and cooling a laser system by providing a vapor compression system having a plurality of compressors. A control system controls the activity of each compressor and activates and manages the speed of each compressor to efficiently provide cooling and heating of the laser system.

System and method for laser-induced plasma for infrared homing missile countermeasure

A method where a laser beam is configured to generate a laser-induced plasma filament (LIPF), and the LIPF acts as a decoy to detract a homing missile or other threat from a specific target.

A method of creating a visual impairment zone includes producing at least one beam of intense light having a bandwidth of less than 50 nm. The beam of intense light is modulated to produce a spatial array having a pattern of light beams illuminating the visual impairment zone. The pattern of light beams is altered as a function of time to form a varying spatial array, wherein the varying spatial array has the requisite irradiance to cause visual impairment.

Laser weapon system

A laser weapon system is described. Particularly, embodiments describe subsystems of a laser weapon system including those necessary for laser generation, operational control, optical emission, and heat dissipation configured to provide a lightweight unit of reduced dimensions.

ULTRA-COMPACT, MODULAR LASER SENSOR FOR TACTICAL ENVIRONMENTS

A laser sensor system including a common optical bench that is configured to receive and process different beams of a high energy laser (HEL). The common optical bench is configured to handle the different beams using a modular set of optical components. Optical components of the common optical bench include a filtering device configured to reduce the power of the beams, a common collecting optical element that is configured to set an imaging position and focal length for the beams, a position sensitive detector (PSD) arrangement that is configured to measure angular and positional errors in the beams, and various compaction optical elements, such as mirrors, that are configured to enable compaction of the laser sensor system by increasing the focal length of the beams.

Underwater object destruction system and underwater object destruction method

A laser beam is condensed in a close position to a target object in underwater so as to generate an air bubble or plasma. The target object is efficiently destroyed by a shock by the air bubble or the plasma.

MULTIPLE COHERENT BEAM COMBINATION SYSTEMS WITH REDUCED NUMBER OF APERTURES

A first transceiver has a beam emitter that generates first coherent beams, and first optics that direct the first coherent beams towards a target and collect radiation reflected from the target. A second transceiver has a beam emitter that generates second coherent beams, a detector, and second optics having an aperture. The second optics directs the second coherent beams towards the target via the aperture, collects radiation reflected from the target via the aperture, and guides a first radiation component of the collected radiation, that corresponds to the first coherent beams, to the detector. The detector generates, from the first radiation component, a signal indicative of an intensity of radiation impinging on the target corresponding to the first coherent beams. A control subsystem is associated with the transceivers and modifies at least one parameter of the first transceiver based on the intensity signal.
