Projectile weapon training apparatus using visual display to determine targeting, accuracy, and/or reaction timing
This apparatus offers multiple training scenarios which designates the targets to be hit and evaluates response. The apparatus assists in the evaluation and training of a shooter using multiple scenarios, detection of target strikes, timing, accuracy, and threat assessment. The system may be used with unmodified weapons and may not require attachments to weapon or shooter. The light source(s) in this apparatus may include visible lasers, focused light emitters, video or image projectors. The shooter may use live ammunition, and the weapon may be fired and operated independently of the control system. Hit detection on the targets may use vibration, accelerometer, acoustic, optical or thermal sensors that respond to projectile strikes on the designated target(s). If the specific location of the strike on the target is desired, nested targets and multiple sensor triangulation calculations may be used. This system designates which targets to shoot, when to fire, and evaluates the results.
IMPACT INDICATION SYSTEM
An impact indication system for indicating an impact of a projectile on a target. The impact indication system includes an impact sensing system including a g-force sensor, a housing engagable with the target, and a first computing device including at least a processor and a memory. The impact indication system further includes a signal output unit including a housing, a signal output device, a second computing device including a processor and a memory, the first computing device operable to send a signal to the second computing device in response to sensing the impact, and the second computing device operable to produce a signal indicative of the impact.
Shooting target system
A shooting target system exhibiting a ballistic plate having a front face, capable of being struck by aimed projectiles, and an opposed rear face which is made to accept an array of sensors for the detection and transmittal of ballistic strike information. The array of sensors is applied to the opposed rear face and is made to cover a major portion of the rear face. Each sensor is responsive to discrete areas of vibration of the ballistic plate, resulting from a projectile strike, which generates a strike signal that is transmitted to a processor connected to each of the sensors. The processor determines which of the sensors is/are first activated by a projectile strike during a limited time interval and calculates the location of a projectile strike based on the location of the activated sensors and whether each sensor's input is above or below a preselected threshold.

Target Training System With Simulated Muzzle Flash Elements
Target shooting systems and methods are disclosed or exposing shooters to simulated muzzle flashes and monitoring training using a computing device, software application, audio, video, an electrocardiogram (EKG), and wireless communications. The target shooting replicates the visual and audio experience of a muzzle flash thereby simulating live return fire as closely as possible while maintaining safety. The trainee may shoot live ammunition at a target that is simulating shooting back. The EKG is able to measure heart rates over time and transfer the data to the software application on the computing device. The video camera can transfer recorded video data to the software application. Sensors on the target can transfer impact data to the software application to calculate hit/miss ratios. Target systems can include metal targets or cardboard targets. The system may also be applicable to dry fire training there is simulated gunfire.

Target Hit Indicator
Target hit indicator and associated components and methods. The target hit indicator includes a housing that houses various electronic components and supports at least one light source. The target hit indicator is mountable on a target and configured to detect hits on the target and to activate the at least one light source to indicate such hits.

Remote detection of gun projectiles
A sensor system is provided for monitoring anti-personnel effectiveness of a gun that fires a projectile against a mannequin target. The system includes an instrumentation sensor, an aggregation controller and a base station. The instrumentation sensor is disposed on the target. The sensor transmits a status condition based on electrical integrity. The status condition is either intact as default or else disablement in response to impact from the projectile. The aggregation controller receives the status condition from the sensor and transmits the status information as aggregated information. The base station receives the aggregated information for analysis to determine the effectiveness in response to the gun firing at the target.
