ADAPTER AND SHAPED CHARGE APPARATUS FOR OPTIMIZED PERFORATION JET
An adapter for a shaped charge includes a plurality of members configured to be secured to an inner surface of a shaped charge case. Each member of the plurality of members is spaced apart from each other such that the adapter has a central open area. According to an aspect, a securing mechanism is configured to secure the member to an inner surface feature of the shaped charge case.
Liner for a shaped charge and method for manufacturing a liner
A liner for a shaped charge including an inner layer made of a material having a density below 10.5 g/cm.sup.3, and an outer layer made of a material having a density below 2.0 g/cm.sup.3, wherein the outer layer is formed directly on the inner layer. In a first state, both the inner layer and the outer layer are compressed towards the symmetry axis (x) of the liner, thereby forming a projectile. In a second state, the inner layer forms a penetration jet of the projectile and the outer layer forms a slug of the projectile. The melting point of the outer layer is above 100 C. The invention also concerns a shaped charge including the liner, a method for manufacturing the liner and a method for detonation of the shaped charge.
Liner for a shaped charge and method for manufacturing a liner
A liner for a shaped charge including an inner layer made of a material having a density below 10.5 g/cm.sup.3, and an outer layer made of a material having a density below 2.0 g/cm.sup.3, wherein the outer layer is formed directly on the inner layer. In a first state, both the inner layer and the outer layer are compressed towards the symmetry axis (x) of the liner, thereby forming a projectile. In a second state, the inner layer forms a penetration jet of the projectile and the outer layer forms a slug of the projectile. The melting point of the outer layer is above 100 C. The invention also concerns a shaped charge including the liner, a method for manufacturing the liner and a method for detonation of the shaped charge.
INTERVENING SHAPED CHARGE LINER
The present disclosure relates to shaped charge. The shaped charge includes an explosive component having a first density and a first mechanical strength. The shaped charge also includes a liner member having a second density and a second mechanical strength. Further, the shaped charge includes an intervening liner member having a third density and a third mechanical strength. The intervening liner member is disposed between the explosive component and the liner member. The intervening liner member has one or both of: the third density being between the first density and the second density; and the third mechanical strength being between the first mechanical strength and the second mechanical strength.
INTERVENING SHAPED CHARGE LINER
The present disclosure relates to shaped charge. The shaped charge includes an explosive component having a first density and a first mechanical strength. The shaped charge also includes a liner member having a second density and a second mechanical strength. Further, the shaped charge includes an intervening liner member having a third density and a third mechanical strength. The intervening liner member is disposed between the explosive component and the liner member. The intervening liner member has one or both of: the third density being between the first density and the second density; and the third mechanical strength being between the first mechanical strength and the second mechanical strength.
