A system is suitable for connecting multiple implements to a three-point hitch of mobile machinery for controllable side-shifting movement of the connected implements. The system comprises first, second and third apparatuses, each apparatus comprising a first framework, a slidable second framework laterally slideable relative to the first framework, at least one connector supported by the slidable second framework for connecting the slidable second framework to one of the implements, and at least one driver connected to the first framework and the slidable second framework for driving the slidable second framework laterally back and forth relative to the first framework. The second apparatus is attached to one side of the first apparatus and the third apparatus is attached to the other side of the first apparatus.

An agricultural machine has a linkage system for hitching of an implement and an additional axle mounted to the linkage system. The linkage system includes at least one lift arm adjustably mounted to the chassis at an inner end and carrying a fastening device at an outer end. The additional axle is connected to at least one lift arm inboard of the fastening device. The linkage assembly may be a three-point linkage assembly having two lower lift arms, the additional axle being mounted between the lower lift arms.

A method of controlling an agricultural work system includes defining a wheelbase of the traction unit and defining at least one implement dimension of the drawn implement relative to the traction unit. A pitch angle of the traction unit about a central transverse axis is sensed relative to a horizontal reference plane as the traction unit moves over a terrain feature of a ground surface. A controller may then generate an elevation profile of the ground surface from the sensed pitch angle and the wheelbase of the traction unit. The controller may then control or actuate an adjustable component to adjust a ground clearance between the drawn implement and the ground surface to avoid contact between the drawn implement and the terrain feature as the drawn implement moves over the terrain feature.

A method of controlling an agricultural work system includes defining a wheelbase of the traction unit and defining at least one implement dimension of the drawn implement relative to the traction unit. An agricultural implement includes a fertilizer section. The fertilizer section includes a first interface configured to engage a three-point hitch, and a second interface configured to engage an interface of a planter section. Further, the interface of the planter section is configured to engage the three-point hitch.

An apparatus for combining planting implements enables an operator of a tractor to use both a conventional cultivating implement and a conventional broadcasting implement simultaneously. The apparatus is rigidly affixed to a conventional cultivating implement and comprises a support frame, a pair of brackets, and a connection bar. In combination, the support frame, pair of brackets, and connection bar provide a three-point connection whereby a conventional broadcasting implement may be attached thereto, thus enabling an operator of a tractor to use both a conventional cultivating implement and a conventional broadcasting implement simultaneously. In operation, at least a portion of the conventional cultivating implement is disposed behind the conventional broadcasting implement when the conventional broadcasting implement is attached to the support frame, thereby allowing simultaneous cultivation and broadcasting of constituents.

An apparatus for combining planting implements enables an operator of a tractor to use both a conventional cultivating implement and a conventional broadcasting implement simultaneously. The apparatus is rigidly affixed to a conventional cultivating implement and comprises a support frame, a pair of brackets, and a connection bar. A quick-attachment system may be used for attaching an agricultural planter to a strip till. A frame is initially installed on a strip till and may remain permanently attached to the strip till so that the strip till may be separately used in normal operation with the frame attached but without a planter attached. For combination tilling and planting operations, a planter may be attached by completing a three-point hitch attachment to the frame so that a tractor may be used to pull the combination of strip till and planter. Hydraulic cylinders connected to the frame and to the planter may be used to lift and lower the planter relative to the strip till.

A quick-attachment system may be used for attaching an agricultural planter to a strip till. A frame is initially installed on a strip till and may remain permanently attached to the strip till so that the strip till may be separately used in normal operation with the frame attached but without a planter attached. For combination tilling and planting operations, a planter may be attached by completing a three-point hitch attachment to the frame so that a tractor may be used to pull the combination of strip till and planter. Hydraulic cylinders connected to the frame and to the planter may be used to lift and lower the planter relative to the strip till.
