INTELLIGENT MUNITION
20220163295 · 2022-05-26 ·

A small arms form factor munition may package a control section with a deployment section in a munition case. The control section can have a first drag mechanism and a second drag mechanism. Firing the munition case from a firearm propels the load from the munition case and barrel of the firearm towards a target. A drag mechanism is selected and activated by the control section in response to a detected distance to the target while the load is in flight. The drag mechanism alters a flight characteristic of the load.

A cassette for deploying one or more anchors can include at least one socket in fluid communication with a pressure source and at least one anchor being positionable within the at least one socket. At least one slidable piston can be positionable in the at least one socket between the anchor and the pressure source such that the slidable piston is propelled along the socket in response to a pressure wave generated by the pressure source to thereby expel the anchor from the socket. The slidable piston can include a first, relatively rigid component coupled to a second, relatively pliable component. A portion of the piston can be seated in intimate contact with a portion of the anchor when the anchor and piston are positioned within the socket.

An ammunition cartridge for an air gun includes a housing, a partition, a cap, at least one projectile, and at least one gas flow aperture. The housing defines an interior space. The housing has a rear portion and a forward portion. The partition is disposed in the interior space and engaged with the rear portion. The cap is releasably engaged with the forward portion. The at least one projectile is received in the interior space between the partition and the cap. The at least one gas flow aperture extends through the partition and provides a fluid flow path through which a pressurized gas provided by the air gun enters and pressurizes the interior space to propel the cartridge through a barrel bore of the air gun.

Intelligent munition

An intelligent munition can position circuitry in a 12 gauge form factor that detects the distance from a target in real-time in order to deploy a parachute to slow the munition to a speed that is conducive to accurate, but non-lethal, deployment of at least one electrode toward the target. The munition can intelligently discharge electrical charge into the target via an electrode to disable the target. The munition may further monitor the target and deliver a subsequent electrical discharge in response to detected target movement.

Box by pin perforating gun system and methods

A method and system for a perforating gun having a box by pin perforating gun system using swaged down gun bodies. The box by pin perforating gun system may include a removable cartridge to hold a detonator with a switch and an insulated charge holder as an electrical feed-through.

This invention relates to less-lethal munitions. More particularly, the invention relates to a wad and a less-lethal round of ammunition adapted for use with a conventional firearm, which less-lethal shell enables the firearm to propel less-lethal projectiles therefrom. According to a first aspect of the invention there is provided a wad operatively received within an ammunition casing, the wad comprising a substantially disc-shaped base; and a plurality of tabs extending from the base defining a receiving zone therebetween, with at least some of the tabs provided with an inwardly projecting formation for urging against a projectile operatively received within the receiving zone.
