Shot shell with projectile
A cartridge assembly that includes a non-lethal projectile and a carrier configured for retaining and launching the non-lethal projectile. The carrier includes a housing including a combustion chamber, at least one escape aperture, a primer, and a case connected to the housing. The case encases the non-lethal projectile. The case and the housing collectively define a launch chamber that is fluidly connected to the at least one escape aperture. The launch chamber is configured for launching the non-lethal projectile out of the case. The at least one escape aperture is configured for metering pressurized gas from the combustion chamber to the launch chamber for launching the non-lethal projectile.
Rifle cartridge with improved bullet upset and separation
A rifle cartridge with a bullet has desirable penetration capabilities and controlled separation of components upon terminal impact. In embodiments of the invention, the bullet comprises a forward component, a lead core, and a copper jacket. The lead jacket having a leading edge portion that extends to the cylindrical mid portion. The forward component may have a forward pointed ogive portion, a cylindrical mid portion, a mid ogive portion, and a pair of cylindrical portions separated by an annular groove. The jacket having a cannelure at the annular groove and the casing upper lip crimped into the cannelure.
Preloaded sabot system
A sabot having an extended casing for containing propellant charge and a slotted top portion for securing a projectile. The propellant charge is ignited by gases that enter the lower portion of the sabot from a puncture developed by the mating of the sabot against a breech plug. The breech plug has a piercing component in the form of a sharpened forward edge to initiate puncture of the breech end of the sabot.

Propulsion system for cartridge ammunition
A fragment-free propulsion of a cartridge-type ammunition, including a propellant casing and a high-pressure chamber, wherein the high-pressure chamber accommodates a propellant powder and, in the bottom region, a primer, having at least one overflow bore. To avoid fragments, a membrane, which separates the high-pressure chamber and a low-pressure chamber from one another and which does not tear to connect the high-pressure chamber to the low-pressure chamber when pressure is built up but instead is bent, is embedded in the high-pressure chamber. For this purpose, the high-pressure chamber additionally has a cap, the membrane, and a body. The membrane is embedded in the body and is secured by the cap. In addition, the membrane covers a gap that is formed by an outer diameter of the cap and an inner diameter of the body, and into which the membrane is bent when pressure is built up.

Less-lethal munitions
This invention relates to less-lethal munitions. More particularly, the invention relates to a wad and a less-lethal round of ammunition adapted for use with a conventional firearm, which less-lethal shell enables the firearm to propel less-lethal projectiles therefrom. According to a first aspect of the invention there is provided a wad operatively received within an ammunition casing, the wad comprising a substantially disc-shaped base; and a plurality of tabs extending from the base defining a receiving zone therebetween, with at least some of the tabs provided with an inwardly projecting formation for urging against a projectile operatively received within the receiving zone.

Ammunition case mouth sealing system and related method
An ammunition sealing system includes a case hanging rail for holding a row of cases and one or more heating elements in close proximity to the row of cases. The one or more heating elements are configured to heat sealant applied inside the case mouths. The one or more heating elements are one or more induction heating elements or microwave heating elements.
