MULTIPURPOSE PROJECTILE APPRATUS, METHOD OF MANUFACTURE, AND METHOD OF USE THEREOF
The invention comprises a projectile, compliant with the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations and/or the United States Code, such as 18 U.S.C. § 921(a)(17)(B), which regulates bullet materials and mass fractions. For example, the invention is to a projectile comprising: (1) a metal core, such as a cobalt alloy core, including a base and a tip, where the base and the tip are separated by a core length along a z-axis running longitudinally through a center of the metal core; and (2) a jacket circumferentially attached to the metal core, the jacket surrounding at least fifty percent of the core length of the metal core, where the jacket includes: a polymer and a first jacket radial thickness along at least a section of an interquartile portion of the core length of greater than 0.03 inches.

A projectile for use in a firearm ammunition cartridge, and a method of forming the projectile the projectile including a core, a jacket in which the core is disposed, the jacket having a closed rearward end and an open forward end, the forward end tapering inwardly toward a longitudinal centerline of the jacket to define an ogive portion of the projectile, and extending past a forward end of the core to form an open space inside the jacket between the forward end of the core and the forward end of the jacket, and a plurality of ventilation ports formed proximate the forward end of the jacket, each of the ventilation ports having a first opening on an inner surface of the jacket defining the open space, and a second opening on an outer surface of the jacket.

The present invention provides a projectile device and a method of manufacture of a projectile device and in particular to a pistol bullet and a rifle bullet and method of manufacture of the same. In one embodiment, the projectile apparatus has a cylindrical body portion having a diameter, a front nose section tapering from a most proximal point of the projectile to the cylindrical body portion, and a rear tail section connected to the body portion and extending to the most distal point of the projectile, in which the front nose portion comprises a plurality of twisting depressions forming troughs.

The present invention provides a projectile device and a method of manufacture of a projectile device and in particular to a pistol bullet and a rifle bullet and method of manufacture of the same. In one embodiment, the projectile apparatus has a cylindrical body portion having a diameter, a front nose section tapering from a most proximal point of the projectile to the cylindrical body portion, and a rear tail section connected to the body portion and extending to the most distal point of the projectile, in which the front nose portion comprises a plurality of twisting depressions forming troughs.
INJECTION MOLDED PROJECTILE
The present invention provides a method of making a metal injection molded ammunition cartridge comprising the steps of: providing an ammunition cartridge mold comprising a bottom portion having a primer recess extending into the bottom portion adapted to receive a primer, a flash hole positioned in the primer recess through the bottom surface; side walls extending from the bottom portion to a nose end aperture, wherein a propellant chamber is formed between the nose end aperture and the bottom surface; injecting a metal composition into the ammunition cartridge mold to form a metal injection molded ammunition cartridge; and removing the metal injection molded ammunition cartridge from the ammunition cartridge mold.

A cartridge with a bullet has desirable penetration capabilities and controlled separation of components upon terminal impact. In embodiments of the invention, the bullet comprises a forward component, a lead core, and a copper jacket. The bullet having a forward nose portion with a plurality of cutaways spaced circumferentially about the nose portion. The copper jacket having a leading edge portion positioned at the cutaways.
