PROXIMITY FUZE, AND PROJECTILE PROVIDED WITH SUCH A PROXIMITY FUZE
A fuze for detecting an obstacle in proximity, an obstacle in proximity defined as being an obstacle exhibiting a minimum distance from the fuze, wherein the fuze comprises at least: an emission device emitting a light beam directed forward of the fuze; a reception device detecting the luminous fluxes in a cone directed forward of the fuze, the light beam and the cone having relative orientations such that they cross one another; a detection volume being the volume where the light beam crosses the cone so that when an obstacle is in the detection volume, the light emitted by the emission device is backscattered toward the detection device, an obstacle in proximity being detected by detecting the maximum of backscattered power, the reception cone is centered on the axis of the fuze.

INTERMEDIATE, TOOL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A DEFORMATION BULLET WITH DEFINED TERMINAL BALLISTICS
The present invention relates to a bullet, in particular a deformation bullet, such as a hollow-point bullet, for example for police and/or authority ammunition, in particular with a caliber in the range of 4.6 mm to 20 mm, comprising a bullet body with a nose wall delimiting a central cavity which is open towards the surroundings, wherein the nose wall is notched and/or the cavity is produced by cold forming in such a way that on impact of the bullet on a target the nose wall is deformed so that it is widened by less than 90, in particular less than 60, in particular less than 45 or less than 30, in relation to the longitudinal axis of the bullet.

Upset jacketed bullets
A projectile according to exemplary embodiments generally includes a jacket with nose, middle, and heel portions. The nose portion includes a forward cavity. The heel portion includes a rearward cavity having sidewalls. A dense core is within the rearward cavity and bonded to the sidewalls. Upon upset of the projectile, the portion of the jacket forming the forward cavity peels generally back toward the heel portion thereby forming petals, and the sidewalls and the dense core axially compress and radially expand to define a bulge portion, with the jacket material substantially covering the dense core material thereby inhibiting exposure of the dense core material to the upset media.

Bullet with controlled fragmentation
A bullet with controlled fragmentation has a core in the form of a generally cylindrical body having a forward end and a rear end and intermediate side portions extending there between, the forward end of the core defining a cavity, a jacket encompassing the rear end and at least selected portions of the sides of the core, the jacket having a sidewall having a first drive band portion having a first wall thickness, and a second portion immediately forward of the drive band portion having a second thickness less than the first thickness, the exterior of the jacket defining a cannelure groove encircling the bullet, and the cannelure groove being positioned forward of the first drive band portion. The drive band may have forward edge defining a step. The bullet of the present invention may also be received in the case mouth of a rimless case and be partially protruding therefrom.
