Row planter with adjustable gauge wheels

Adjustable gauge wheels are provided on a row unit planter adjacent the opening disc. The wheels are adjustable laterally for proper spacing adjacent the discs. The camber of the gauge wheels relative to discs is also adjustable. The lateral adjustment is accomplished via a wear bushing and pivot bushing extending into the wear bushing for each gauge wheel. A grease zerk is provided on the end of each pivot bushing to supply grease to the inside of the adjustment wear bushing. The camber adjustment is accomplished via a slot in the row planter frame and bolts extending into arms on a pivotal member.

A towed agricultural implement comprising a central frame to which laterally extending side frames are connected for supporting a plurality of ground working tools and in which each side frame is supported above the ground by a swiveling wheel which freely pivots when moving forward but which can be locked in perpendicular alignment to the side frame when moving in reverse.

Mounting structure for mounting pivot arm to implement

A mounting structure for mounting a pivot arm to an implement has a cylindrical member, an adjusting sleeve, and a mounting bolt extending through the cylindrical member and adjusting sleeve to fix the cylindrical member and adjusting sleeve together. The cylindrical member extends through a bore of a bearing housing for rotation within the bearing housing. The adjusting sleeve has a threaded external surface. A disc spring is positioned on the adjusting sleeve. An adjusting nut is threaded onto the threaded external surface of the adjusting sleeve. The adjusting nut can be tightened to compress the disc spring to create a lateral bearing force against the bearing housing. The bearing housing can be integral with a pivot arm for mounting a gauge wheel assembly on a planter row unit, or the bearing housing can be a fixed part for mounting a pivot arm for a closing/press wheel on a drill.

Implement frame convertible between field and transport positions

An implement frame having a carriage frame for coupling to a towing vehicle and wheels to support the frame for movement over a ground surface. A pivot frame is rotationally mounted to the carriage frame and a lift assembly is coupled to the pivot frame via a shift assembly. A tool bar is mounted to the lift assembly. The shift assembly moves the tool bar forward as it is moved from the field use position to the transport position. The wheels are mounted to swing arms to move the wheels inward for a narrow transport position. All motion is accomplished through actuators, such as hydraulic cylinders, to automate the process making it quick and easy.

AUTOMATED AGRICULTURE IMPLEMENT

The system can include: an implement frame and a set of modular assemblies. The system can optionally include a vehicle and a set of effectors. However, the system can additionally or alternatively include any other suitable set of components. The system can function to facilitate automated and/or perception-based weeding and/or other automated agricultural operations. Additionally, the system can function to collect plant-level data on crops during implement operation. However, the system can additionally or alternatively be configured to provide any other suitable functionality.

Free-floating laterally adustable gauge wheel arm

An assembly for adjustably mounting a gauge wheel arm to the frame of a row unit may include a pivot pin connected on the frame, a bushing freely rotatably mounted on the pivot pin for engagement with the gauge wheel arm such that rotation of the bushing with respect to the gauge wheel arm moves the gauge wheel arm axially, and a locking element that integrates the gauge wheel arm with the bushing so that there is no relative movement therebetween as the gauge wheel arm rotates with respect to the pivot pin.

GREASELESS BUSHING FOR AGRICULTURAL ROW UNIT

A greaseless bushing assembly is provided for the gauge wheel arms of an agricultural row planter. The greaseless bushing includes an outer threaded tube for threaded mounting within the gauge wheel arm, and an internal non-metallic sleeve through which the wheel bolt extends for mounting the gauge wheel onto the arm. The sleeve provides dry lubrication for the bushing. The bushing may also include a lip or wiper seal at each end to prevent entry of dust into the bushing.

ADJUSTABLE LIFT ASSIST FRAME FOR AN AGRICULTURAL IMPLEMENT

In one embodiment, an agricultural system includes a tool bar configured to couple to a tow vehicle. The tool bar is configured to support at least one row unit assembly. The agricultural system also includes a lift assist assembly coupled to the tool bar such that rotation of the tool bar relative to the lift assist assembly about a vertical axis is blocked. The lift assist assembly is configured to provide lifting support to the tool bar. The lift assist assembly comprises a frame, one or more rolling elements configured to contact a surface of a field, and one or more telescoping members configured to adjust a configuration of the lift assist assembly along at least one of a lateral axis, a longitudinal axis, and the vertical axis.
