Munition module, warhead and munition
A munition module includes an ignition point of an explosive configuration positioned away from a detonator within a casing of the explosive configuration. In an initial state, an ignition channel runs from the detonator to the ignition point. The ignition channel is formed so as to be open in an initial state and self-sealing in an exploded state after a detonation has taken place. A warhead with the munition module contains an active covering which at least partially surrounds the explosive configuration and can be accelerated by the reacted explosive. In a munition having the warhead, the detonator is an impact detonator. A munition in the form of an air-burst munition contains the warhead.
PROJECTILE WITH PYROTECHNICALLY TIMED RELEASE OF A SECONDARY PAYLOAD
The present invention relates to a firearm projectile capable of releasing a secondary payload mid-flight through a pyrotechnic timing mechanism. Once the firearm is fired, the powder in the casing pushes out the projectile as a typical round. In addition, the powder ignites the delay column. The formulation and amount of delay pyrotechnics determines the delay time. When the delay column is burned, the final portion ignites an expelling charge. The expelling charge builds pressure in the projectile casing and separates the base plug from the main projectile housing. The expelling assembly pushes out the secondary payload out the rear of the projectile. Although the payload exits the rear of the projectile at minimum velocity, the net velocity of the payload is still in the forward direction.
Detonation-wave-shaping fuze booster
A fuze booster includes a first explosive charge having a cavity with an annular portion of the first explosive charge encircling a first axial portion of the cavity and a semi-annular portion partially encircling a second axial portion of the cavity. The annular portion abuts the semi-annular portion. An explosively-inert material abuts the semi-annular portion, abuts the annular portion, and partially encircles the second axial portion of the cavity. A second explosive charge abuts the explosively-inert material, abuts the semi-annular portion, and partially encircles the second axial portion of the cavity. The second axial portion of the cavity is thus completely encircled by a combination of the semi-annular portion, the explosively-inert material, and the second explosive charge.
Bullet projectile with internal electro-mechanical action producing combustion for warfare
A bullet projectile is described with an internal magnetic hammer providing electromagnetic induction upon impact.
Shear-Pin Based Inertia Igniters with Preset No-Fire Protection For Munitions and the Like
An inertial igniter for igniting a thermal battery, including: a base having a first projection; a striker mass rotatably connected to the base having a second projection, when the striker mass is rotated towards the base, the first projection impacts the second projection; a member having a first portion engaging with a second portion of the striker mass to restrict rotation of the striker mass unless a predetermined acceleration is experienced; a mass movable from a first position where an acceleration is less than the predetermined acceleration and a second position where the acceleration is greater than the predetermined acceleration to permit the first and second portions to come out of engagement; a spring for biasing the mass in the first position; and a rotation prevention member for permitting impact of the first and second projections when the predetermined acceleration is experienced and the mass moves to the second position.
FIRE-RETARDING ARTILLERY SHELL
An artillery shell is fired out of a gun towards a fire. A trigger releases a fire-retarding material from the artillery shell to retard the fire.
Shear-based inertia igniters with preset no-fire protection for munitions and the like
An inertial igniter for igniting a thermal battery upon a predetermined acceleration event. The inertial igniter including: a base having a first projection; a striker mass rotatably connected to the base through a rotatable connection, the base having a second projection aligned with the first projection such that when the striker mass is rotated towards the base, the first projection impacts the second projection; a rotation prevention mechanism for preventing impact of the first and second projections unless the predetermined acceleration event is experienced; and a spring for biasing the striker mass in a biasing direction away from the base, the spring being disposed between a portion of the striker mass and a portion of the rotation prevention mechanism.

Fire-retarding artillery shell
An artillery shell is fired out of a gun towards a fire. A trigger releases a fire-retarding material from the artillery shell to retard the fire.
Electromagnetic mobile active system
An electromagnetic mobile active system for fitting in a missile with a detonation-operated magnetic field compressor. The magnetic field compressor has at least one stator coil and at least one armature casing, which is at least partially surrounded by the stator coil and kept at a radial distance. The magnetic field compressor has at least one explosive charge embedded in the armature casing. The magnetic field compressor has at least one power source. For activating the detonation of the explosive charge, a trigger system is provided. The trigger system can be controlled by a pulse of current from the power source, depending on a signal supplied by the missile. A great amount of electrical energy can be generated in the stator coil by the detonation. For the directional radiation of the electrical energy generated by the detonation of the explosive charge, the active system has at least one directional antenna.
