Compressor stator vane airfoils

A stator vane is provided. The stator vane including an airfoil that has a nominal suction-side profile substantially in accordance with suction-side Cartesian coordinate values of X, Y, and Z set forth in Table I. The Cartesian coordinate values of X, Y, and Z are defined relative to a point data origin at a base of the airfoil. The Cartesian coordinate values of X, Y, and Z are non-dimensional values that are convertible to dimensional distances expressed in a unit of distance by multiplying the Cartesian coordinate values of X, Y, and Z by a scaling factor of the airfoil in the unit of distance. The X and Y values are connected by smooth continuing arcs to define suction-side profile sections at each Z value. The suction-side profile sections at the Z values are joined smoothly with one another to form a complete airfoil suction-side shape.

In a cross-sectional view including a blade height direction which is a direction away from the hub toward a tip of each blade, the blade has a recessed surface curved convexly toward a rear side in a rotational direction. In the cross-sectional view, when a distance between an imaginary line connecting a tip-side edge and a hub-side edge of the blade and a midspan of the blade along a direction perpendicular to the imaginary line is defined as a recess amount, the blade has a portion where the recess amount increases from a leading edge side to a trailing edge side.

TURBINE BLADE TIP SHROUD WITH PROTRUSION UNDER WING

A tip shroud includes a pair of opposed, axially extending wings configured to couple to an airfoil at a radially outer end thereof. The tip shroud also includes a tip rail extending radially from the pair of opposed, axially extending wings. Tip shroud surface profiles may be of the downstream and/or upstream side of the tip rail, a leading Z-notch of the tip shroud, and/or downstream radially inner surface of a wing. The surface profiles may have a nominal profile substantially in accordance with at least part of Cartesian coordinate values of X and Y, and perhaps Z and a thickness, set forth in a respective table. The radially inner surface of the wing may define a protrusion extending along the radially outer end of the airfoil, the suction side fillet, and a radial inner surface of the wing to an axial edge of the wing.

Airfoil with convex sides and multi-piece baffle

An airfoil includes an airfoil section that has an airfoil wall that defines a leading end, a trailing end, and first and second convex sides that join the leading end and the trailing end. The first and second convex sides span in a longitudinal direction between first and second ends. The first and second convex sides define lateral bounds of an internal core cavity, and the first and second convex sides converge toward each other at each of the first and second ends such that the internal core cavity constricts at the first and second ends. A multi-piece baffle is disposed in the internal core cavity and has a shape that is complementary to the first and second convex sides.

A stator vane segment includes: a plurality of airfoil portions; and one outer band and one inner band joined to a tip portion and a hub portion of each airfoil portion. Each airfoil portion is formed by stacking airfoil profiles in a spanwise direction from the hub portion to the tip portion. Each profile includes a leading edge, a trailing edge, a pressure surface, and a suction surface, in a stacking line connecting respective trailing edges of the profiles at spanwise positions. A portion from the tip portion to a predetermined position is a straight line in a radial direction. A portion from the predetermined position to the hub portion is shifted from the pressure surface toward the suction surface in a circumferential direction from the straight line parallel to the radial direction. An amount of the shift monotonically increases from the predetermined position to the hub portion.

An airfoil includes an airfoil wall that defines a leading end, a trailing end, and first and second sides that join the leading end and the trailing end. A rib connects the first and second sides of the airfoil wall. The rib defines a tube portion that circumscribes a rib passage, and first and second connector arms that solely join the tube portion to, respectively, the first and second sides of the airfoil wall.

20230160306 · 2023-05-25 ·

A blade has an internal blade profile, and a jet deflection portion adjoining the internal blade profile. Each blade profile of the jet deflection portion has a center of gravity. The centers of gravity are joined by a thread line, which is a space line, starting from the internal blade profile. A total deviation of the space line in relation to the reference line is described by an nth order polynomial based on radial distance from the blade profile to a reference point. The thread line is selected and designed such that a compressive stress is produced in the region of the leading edge of the blade during operation.
