Air seeders that have force actuators acting on the firming implement and/or the closing wheel to adjust the downforce. In one example, the seeding implement includes a support arm having first and second portions. A finning implement support arm is pivotally connected to the support arm second portion at a first pivot at a first end of the finning implement support arm. A firming implement force actuator is pivotally connected to the support arm second portion at a first end of the firming implement force actuator and connected to the firming implement support arm at the second end of the firming implement force actuator.

SOIL CHARACTERISTIC SENSORS ON GROUND-ENGAGING ELEMENTS OF A PLANTING MACHINE
20220295686 · 2022-09-22 ·

A planting system having a plurality of row units, each row unit having: (a) at least one opening disc configured to open a seed trench; (b) a soil engaging member configured to engage a sidewall of the trench during planting; and (c) at least one strain gauge in operative communication with the soil engaging member, wherein the at least one strain gauge measures force on the soil engaging member during planting operations.

ROW CLOSING ASSEMBLIES

A row planting unit closing system including a first stage closing unit adapted to be attached to a row planting unit and including: a first stage frame; and a set of at least one row closing wheel having a closing angle orientation non-perpendicular relative to the ground; and wherein the first stage frame is attached at a first end to the row planting unit, the first stage frame comprising a linkage mechanism for setting a toe in angle orientation of the set of at least one row closing wheel relative to the first stage frame.

Application units for placement of fluid applications to agricultural plants of a field

Application units provide placement of fluid applications with respect to agricultural plants of agricultural fields. In one embodiment, an application unit includes a frame to be positioned in operation between two rows of plants and a plurality of flexible members coupled to the frame in operation such that the plurality of flexible members guide a lateral position of the frame to be approximately equidistant from the two rows of plants based upon whether at least one flexible member of the plurality of flexible members contacts one or more plants of the two rows of plants. The plurality of flexible members include a plurality of fluid outlets for spraying crop input in close proximity to the rows of plants.

Precision pneumatic seed drill and method of regulating same

A precision pneumatic seed drill. The seed drill comprises at least one sowing element having a seed selector device housing a perforated selector disc which selects seed and has opposing faces subject to a pressure differential. A sowing duct is associated with the selector device. A system measures the speed of forward movement of the seed drill with reference to the ground being sown in order to vary the rotational speed of the selector disc according to the speed of forward movement measured by the measuring system. A pressurization device associated with the selector disc applies the pressure differential to the faces. An ejector along the sowing duct is fed by a compressed air dispenser for pneumatically accelerating the seeds singled out by the selector device. A device for varying the pressure of compressed air fed to the ejector is calibrated according to the typology of the seed to be sown.

Systems, methods and apparatus for soil and seed monitoring

Systems, methods and apparatus are provided for monitoring soil properties including soil moisture, soil electrical conductivity and soil temperature during an agricultural input application. Embodiments include a soil reflectivity sensor and/or a soil temperature sensor mounted to a seed firmer for measuring moisture and temperature in a planting trench. A thermopile for measuring temperature via infrared radiation is described herein. In one example, the thermopile is disposed in a body and senses infrared radiation through an infrared transparent window. Aspects of any of the disclosed embodiments may be implemented in or communicate with an agricultural intelligence computer system as described herein.
