ADJUSTABLE WEDGE ASSEMBLY FOR CHANGING ANGLE ON DISK DRILL CLOSING WHEEL
A row unit closing wheel assembly includes a closing wheel, a closing wheel arm, and a closing wheel shaft having a first end and a second end. The closing wheel is coupled to the first end and the closing wheel arm is coupled to the second end via a pivot joint. The row unit closing wheel assembly also includes an adjustable wedge assembly including a wedge coupled to the pivot joint. The adjustable wedge assembly is configured to adjust an angle of the closing wheel shaft relative to the closing wheel arm along a horizontal plane via movement of the closing wheel shaft about the pivot joint. The horizontal plane is orthogonal to a rotational axis of the pivot joint.
The row unit closing wheel assembly includes an adjustable mechanical assembly disposed at the pivot joint. The adjustable mechanical assembly is configured to adjust an angle of the closing wheel shaft relative to the closing wheel arm along a horizontal plane via movement of the closing wheel shaft about the pivot joint, the horizontal plane being orthogonal to a rotational axis of the pivot joint. The adjustable mechanical assembly includes interlocking teeth and is configured to utilize the interlocking teeth to adjust the angle.
MECHANICAL LINKAGE ASSEMBLY FOR CHANGING ANGLE ON DISK DRILL CLOSING WHEEL
A row unit closing wheel assembly includes a closing wheel, a closing wheel arm, and a closing wheel shaft having a first end and a second end. The closing wheel is coupled to the first end and the closing wheel arm is coupled to the second end via a pivot joint. The row unit closing wheel assembly includes an adjustable mechanical linkage assembly coupled both to the closing wheel shaft and to the closing wheel arm. The adjustable mechanical linkage is configured to adjust an angle of the closing wheel shaft relative to the closing wheel arm along a horizontal plane via movement of the closing wheel shaft about the pivot joint. The horizontal plane is orthogonal to a rotational axis of the pivot joint.
SPACING ADJUSTMENT MECHANISM OF THE DEPTH GAUGE WHEELS ASSEMBLY, PLANTING ROW UNIT AND AGRICULTURAL IMPLEMENT
A spacing adjustment mechanism of a depth gauge wheel assembly of a planting row unit of an agricultural implement includes a rod fixed on one side to a pivot assembly of the planting row unit, and on which a spindle with a threaded external face is mounted, the threaded external face interacts with a threaded inner face of a bearing of a support arm of a gauge wheel.
Gauge wheel for agricultural applications
A gauge wheel (1) for use in controlling the depth of a furrow formed by at least one planting member of cultivation equipment includes a hub member (5) having a central hub and an outer peripheral portion (9); and a resilient coil member (3). The resilient coil member (3) includes a plurality of coil windings (17) which extend closely adjacent to the outer peripheral portion (9) of the hub member (5) and which define an outer periphery of the gauge wheel (1). The coil member (3) is connected at or adjacent one end thereof to the hub member (5). In use, the resilient coil member engages the soil on a side of the furrow and controls the depth by which the at least one planting member cuts into the soil to form the furrow. There is also provided a coulter gauge wheel which includes a coulter disc and at least one gauge wheel as described above.
Agricultural trench depth sensing systems, methods, and apparatus
An agricultural trench depth sensing system having a trench implement adapted to be disposed in a soil trench opened in a soil surface. In one embodiment an ultrasonic sensor detects a distance to an upper surface of said trench implement or a target disposed thereon. In another embodiment, said trench implement includes one or more fingers which rotate with respect to said trench implement to detect the soil surface relative to said trench implement. In another embodiment, said trench implement includes side sensors for detecting the sidewall of the soil trench.
Ground opener with floating opener body
A ground-opening apparatus for an agricultural implement. The ground-opening apparatus comprises an opening disc for excavating a furrow in the ground, and a support assembly securing the opening disc to the agricultural implement. The support assembly comprises an upper bar, a lower bar, a forward bar, and a rearward bar. The upper bar and the lower bar extend generally in parallel relationship. The lower bar and the rearward bar are joined at a lower, rearward joint. A rotational axis of the opening disc extends through the lower, rearward joint of the support assembly.
SENSOR FOR AGRICULTURAL PLANTER CLOSING WHEEL
A sensor system on the closing wheels of an agricultural planter detects rotational speed of the closing wheels, and generates a signal corresponding to the rotational speed. If the speed is below an optimum or preset speed, the operator is notified that the wheels are not rotating properly or have stopped rotating, thereby indicating improper closing of the seed furrow after the seed is planted in the furrow. A sensor system provides a method of monitoring the function of the closing wheels and generating a signal corresponding to the rotational status of the closing wheels.
WHEEL SCRAPER FOR AGRICULTURAL PLANTER
A wheel scraper for an agricultural planter includes a body defining a mounting portion, a biasing portion extending from the mounting portion, and a tine portion extending from the biasing portion opposite the mounting portion. The mounting portion is configured to couple the wheel scraper to an agricultural planter relative to a wheel on the agricultural planter such that the tine portion is arranged extending adjacent to an outer circumferential surface of the wheel and separated from the outer circumferential surface by a clearance. The biasing portion is configured to resiliently bias the tine portion relative to the outer circumferential surface.
