Filter system for an agricultural implement
In one embodiment, an agricultural implement system includes a row unit, the row unit configured to dispose seed into a ground trench, and closing system corresponding to the row unit, the closing system configured to close the ground trench after disposition of the seed. The agricultural implement system further includes a double acting cylinder mechanically coupled to the closing system, the double acting cylinder comprising a cylinder side port and a rod side port and a fluid source fluidly coupled to the cylinder side port and configured to provide a cylinder side fluid. The agricultural implement system additionally includes a filter fluidly coupled to the rod side port. Filtered fluid enters the double acting cylinder via the rod side port.
Ground openers with common depth-adjustment
A depth-adjustment assembly for ground openers of an agricultural implement. The ground openers each include an opening disc, a gauge wheel, and a support assembly securing the ground opener to the agricultural implement. The support assembly is configured to raise and lower the ground opener with respect to the ground and/or to adjust a down-pressure of the ground opener. The depth-adjustment assembly comprises for each of the ground openers, a linkage assembly and a depth-adjustment arm configured to adjust a relative position between the opening disc and the gauge wheel. At least a portion of the linkage extends in parallel relationship with the support assembly. The depth-adjustment assembly further comprises a laterally-extending common pivot bar. Each linkage assembly is secured to the common pivot bar, such that rotation of said common pivot bar is configured to simultaneously adjust the relative position between the opening disc and the gauge wheel of each of the ground openers.
Tine supported gauge wheel
The present invention relates generally to a device that allows a tire to adequately clean a soil cutting disc, maintains the critical seed planting depth, or prevents (1) punctures, (2) soil compaction, (3) premature wear, (4) tire readjustment, (5) operational problems, (6) rough surfaces that fill with mud and debris, and (7) tire removal to clean the gauge wheel or remove buildup. The present invention also provides a device with a gauge wheel for controlling the depth of a furrow created by a soil cutting disk that has one or more of these features. More specifically, the present invention comprises a gauge wheel assembly for farming with a centrally positioned hub, a plurality of spokes extending from the hub to at least one ground contacting finger that extend to an inner circular ring around the circumference.
APPARATUS FOR CLOSING A SEED GROOVE
A furrow closing unit for a planting unit includes a frame adapted to be pivotally coupled with the planting unit, and a pair of coulter blades rotatably attached to the frame and adapted to move soil into a seed groove to facilitate a closing of the seed groove. The furrow closing unit further includes a basket assembly fixedly attached to the frame and having a basket adapted to roll over a soil surface behind the pair of coulter blades. The basket includes a pair of end caps and a plurality of spokes extending between the pair of end caps. The plurality of spokes is arrayed circularly around a central axis of the basket and is arranged spaced apart from each other.
Combined Depth Gauge Wheel and Scraper For a Planter
A depth gauge wheel for a row planter. The depth gauge wheel sets the planting depth for the seeds planted by the row planter. The depth gauge wheel sets planting depth by setting the cutting depth of the disk opener of the row planter. The depth gauge wheel also scrapes mud from the disk blade of the disk opener. The depth gauge wheel includes a rim, a tire attached to the rim and a ring attached to the rim. The tire contacts the surface of the ground to set the cutting depth of the disk opener and the ring scrapes mud from the disk blade of the disk opener.
Seed firmer
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a seed firmer having a resilient portion and a firming portion that are molded together into a unitary part with each portion being a different material.
Seedbed Preparation Method and Mechanism
A seedbed preparation and planting machine includes a cutting assembly including powered forward cutting blades for chopping crop residue. A cutting disc assembly follows the cutting assembly effective for forming a seedbed trench at a seed planting depth. A seed assembly follows the cutting disc assembly including a seed hopper and a seed tube located to drop seed into the seedbed trench. A packer assembly tamps down seed in the seedbed trench for covering seed therein.
MOUNTING STRUCTURE FOR DOWN-PRESSURE SYSTEM FOR OPENER ASSEMBLY OF AGRICULTURAL IMPLEMENT
A down-pressure system for an agricultural implement has a linear actuator connected between a frame assembly and an opener assembly. A mounting structure for connecting the linear actuator to the opener assembly includes a bushing and an alignment member attached to the linear actuator. The bushing has protrusions extending transversely from opposite sides of a longitudinal axis of the linear actuator. Each protrusion has a curved engagement surface for engaging a flat surface on the opener assembly to prevent bending stresses on the linear actuator when the opener assembly is raised and lowered. The alignment member is arranged to lock the bushing into a predetermined rotational position about a longitudinal axis of the linear actuator relative to the opener assembly. The alignment member comprises a first structure that mates with a corresponding structure on the bushing, and a second structure that engages opposite sides of the opener assembly.
Agricultural seed trench closing systems, methods and apparatus
A closing wheel assembly is provided for a row unit agricultural planter. The planter is configured to open a trench in the soil and the closing wheel assembly is configured to close the trench. A resilient flap is provided for firming and leveling the soil returned to the trench by the closing wheel assembly. Pivotally mounted offset closing wheels are also provided.
