There is disclosed a lubricant debris monitoring system for a gas turbine engine. The system includes a magnetic chip collector having electrodes defining a gap therebetween configured to be filled with lubricant. The magnetic chip collector generates a magnetic field for attracting the debris. The system further includes a processor configured to be connected to a power source and for performing an analysis of an signal between the electrodes. The processor stores occurrences of at least one characteristic of the signal exceeding a respective threshold. The system further has a communication system communicatively connected to the processor and configured for transmitting the analysis of the signal.

MODULE FOR ATTRACTING AND DETECTING DEBRIS

Module (60) for attracting and detecting ferromagnetic debris in an oil flow from a turbomachine, the module (60) comprising: a permanent magnet (62); a bar (64), the bottom (66) of which extends radially and is wound around a coil (70). The coil (70) is able to detect the magnetic field generated by the magnet (62) and in particular its variations when a ferromagnetic particle comes into the vicinity of the magnet (62).

Oil filter housing and system

An apparatus facilitates multiple paths or circuits through an engine and remote housing for an oil filter. The apparatus includes a first oil filter chamber housing a first oil filter, a second oil filter chamber housing a second oil filter, a first output of the remote housing configured to provide a path from the first oil filter chamber housing to bearings of an engine, a second output of the remote housing configured to provide a path from the second oil filter chamber housing to a sump of the engine, and an input of the remote housing configured to provide a path from an oil pump of the engine to the first oil filter chamber housing.

A magnetic filtration device for installing as a replacement to a standard drain plug commonly positioned at the bottom of the reservoir. The magnetic filtration device may attract and capture magnetic (ferromagnetic) particulate circulating throughout a mechanical system. Applications for the device include engines, motors, pumps, compressors, gear boxes, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and generators. The magnetic filtration device may comprise a magnet core enclosed within a magnet casing, with additional magnetic rods affixed to and/or arranged around the magnet casing.

GREASE FILTER

A grease filter for filtering grease and the use of the grease filter for a bearing in a wind turbine is provided. A grease filter is disclosed for filtering grease used for lubrication. The grease filter includes and inlet to allow the grease to enter the filter and an outlet to allow the grease to leave the filter, whereby the grease flows from the inlet towards the outlet along a flow path. The filter includes at least one magnetic element present in the flow path of the grease to attract magnetic particles present in the grease and deviate the particles out of the grease flow path.
