Apparatus for providing fine filtration to hydraulic systems and internal combustion engines
The present invention teaches a method and apparatus to quickly and inexpensively implement advanced, bypass grade, fine, or additional filtration to engines and hydraulic systems using any filter media through a single conduit means. The present invention has the ability to make quick hydraulic connection to the engine or hydraulic system, where oil is super cleaned, without major modifications as is the paradigm by traditional bypass filtration systems and without removing any lubricant from the engine or system that the present invention is connected to, as is the paradigm of traditional bypass filtering systems. When connected to the normally provided stud for the spin-on oil filter in an engine or hydraulic system, the net effect of interest to the present invention is that by simply placing the adapter at the point of connection of the spin-on oil filter, many of the necessary plumbing associated with the traditional bypass filter installation is obviated, as is the energy and labor intensive process of seeking for a pressure point and a return of the oil. For canister type filters in engine or other applications, a single access point to the lubrication system is all what is needed. The present invention relies on the variable pressure of the working fluid, be it engine oil or hydraulic fluid, to route through a single bidirectional conduit means first to route to the high efficiency filter an amount of dirty oil and then to return same amount minus the inside volume of the single conduit an amount of super filtered oil from a combination of an accumulator, a high efficiency filter media and strategically located check valves to control such bidirectional flows through the single connection conduit.
Fluid System
This invention relates to an oil reservoir system for an engine comprising: an oil container which includes an oil reservoir, which is in fluidic communication with an oil circulation system of an engine, a ventilated headspace and an oil filter located at the interior of said oil container. The invention also relates to a method for deaeration of an oil of an oil reservoir which is in fluidic communication with an oil circulation system of an engine. Furthermore, the invention relates to a vehicle comprising the oil reservoir system.
LUBRICATING OIL PURIFICATION SYSTEM AND LUBRICATING OIL PURIFICATION METHOD
A lubricating oil purification system for purifying a stock solution mixed with ammonia water into lubricating oil, the lubricating oil purification system includes: an engine; a lubricating oil purifier configured to separate a stock solution containing the lubricating oil used in the engine into a light liquid which is at least the purified lubricating oil and a heavy liquid containing ammonia; and a water supply unit configured to supply water into a separation chamber during operation of the lubricating oil purifier.
REFRIGERANT CIRCULATION SYSTEM
A refrigerant circulation system configured to circulate oil-containing CO.sub.2 refrigerant includes a compressor, a motor, an oil tank, first to third passages, a flow regulating valve provided to the first and/or second passages, a motor rotational speed sensor, and a controller which controls the flow regulating valve(s). The refrigerant supplied from the compressor flows through the first passage, the oil supplied from the oil tank flows through the second passage. The motor includes a rotation shaft coupled to a rotor, and slide bearings which are lubricated using liquefied refrigerant compressed by the compressor and support the rotation shaft. The third passage communicates the first passage with the second passage and supplies to the slide bearings the refrigerant mixed with the oil. The controller controls the flow regulating valve according to the detected rotational speed to change a proportion of the oil in the refrigerant supplied to the slide bearings.
Small air-cooled engine assembly with dry sump lubrication system
An engine assembly includes a small air-cooled engine and a dry sump lubrication system including an external oil reservoir, wherein the dry sump lubrication system has an overall oil capacity that provides at least five hundred hours of engine oil life.
