Oil pan for internal combustion engine
[Summary] Oil pan (10) for containing engine oil is configured so as to be divided into metallic upper oil pan (13) and synthetic resin lower oil pan (14). Upper oil pan (13) and lower oil pan (14) are respectively provided with beam (25) and rib (24), which extend in the front-rear direction of the vehicle. Beam (25) and rib (24) are caused to face each other with gap (26) provided therebetween. When external force which can deform lower oil pan (14) in the front-rear direction of the vehicle acts on lower oil pan (14) due to the interference thereof with curbstones or the like, beam (25) and rib (24) come into contact with each other and prevent lower oil pan (14) from deforming in the front-rear direction of the vehicle.
Transmission for a motor vehicle
A transmission for a motor vehicle includes a housing and a gear set. An oil drainage channel is formed by the housing and/or by an element connected to the housing and is arranged spatially underneath the gear set. The oil drainage channel includes at least one gear set-side inlet port, a closed underside, and an oil sump-side outlet port at one end of the oil drainage channel, which are designed and arranged in such that oil from the gear set enters the oil drainage channel through the at least one inlet port and is guided along the closed underside to the outlet port. A suction port of a hydraulic unit of the transmission is arranged in the oil sump spatially underneath the closed underside of the oil drainage channel and axially offset with respect to the outlet port.
Work machine, control method thereof, and supply system
There is provided a work machine. A reserving chamber reserves lubricating oil to be supplied to an engine. A channel forming member forms a channel of the lubricating oil from the reserving chamber to the engine A press-feed unit press-feeds the lubricating oil reserved in the reserving chamber to the engine via the channel forming member. A float floats on an oil surface of the lubricating oil reserved in the reserving chamber A detection unit provided in the reserving chamber and detects the float A determination unit determines a tilt state of the reserving chamber based on a detection result of the detection unit A control unit controls the press-feed unit based on a determination result of the determination unit.

Engine transportation apparatus
An apparatus for transporting a turbine engine with a transportation fixture including a turbine engine jig having mounts for securing the turbine engine, a rotor with a drive shaft rotationally supported by a bearing, the method includes supplying a lubricant to the bearing and rotating the drive shaft while the turbine engine is in transport.
Oil container of a combustion engine
An oil container of a combustion engine. Oil collected in the oil container can be, conveyed to the combustion engine and back into the oil container, having a central oil chamber out of which oil can be suctioned and lateral oil chambers positioned either obliquely above or obliquely below the central oil chamber depending on an oblique position of the oil container. Oil is directed to the lateral oil chambers from the combustion engine, and, depending on the oblique position of the oil container, the central oil chamber can be coupled to a first lateral oil chamber that is adjacent to the central oil chamber on a first side of the central oil chamber, or to a second lateral oil chamber that is adjacent to the central oil chamber on a second side of the central oil chamber, via a respective passively controlled check valve.
LUBRICATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS WITH SUPERPOSITION GEARBOX
An engine includes a spool including a turbine, a second spool including a second turbine, a fan, and a fan drive gear system. A tower shaft is engaged to the spool. A second tower shaft is engaged to the second spool. A superposition gear system includes a plurality of intermediate gears engaged to the sun gear and supported in a carrier and a ring gear circumscribing the intermediate gears. The tower shaft drives the sun gear. An oil pump is driven by the carrier and supplies oil to the fan drive gear system from an oil tank through a first pickup at a first end of the oil tank and a second pickup at a second, opposite end of the oil tank. A shuttle valve at a suction side of the oil pump selectively allows oil to be supplied by one of the first and second pickup.
Drainage path for a bearing sump in a vertically oriented turbine engine
A gas turbine engine in a shutdown mode comprises one or more rotatable shafts, a first oil sump, a second oil sump, and an oil drainage conduit fluidically connecting the first oil sump and the second oil sump. The one or more rotatable shafts are oriented with an axis of rotation less than 90 degrees from vertical. The first oil sump has a selected critical vertical level. The second oil sump is positioned at an elevation lower than the elevation of the first oil sump. The oil drainage conduit effects oil drainage by gravity from the first oil sump to the second oil sump to prevent the level of oil collected in the first oil sump from exceeding the selected critical vertical level.
Lubrication systems and methods with superposition gearbox
A turbofan engine includes a first spool including a first turbine, a second spool including a second turbine, and a fan. A fan drive gear system drives the fan. A first tower shaft engages the first spool, and a second tower shaft engages the second spool. A superposition gear system includes intermediate gears engaged to the sun gear and supported in a carrier and a ring gear circumscribing the intermediate gears. The first tower shaft drives the sun gear. A main oil pump is driven by the carrier and supplies oil to the fan drive gear system. An auxiliary oil pump supplies oil to the fan drive gear system and is driven by a ring gear shaft coupled to the ring gear. A shuttle valve selectively allows oil to be supplied to the fan drive gear system by one of the main oil pump and the auxiliary oil pump.
