System for monitoring an engine
The invention relates to a monitoring system (SY1) for monitoring an engine (6) comprising: a sensor unit (U1) connected via an inlet line (12) to an oil circuit (C1) of the engine, the sensor unit comprising one or more sensors (SN) for measuring first parameters representative of the quality of an oil (OL) taken from the oil circuit; an analysis unit (U2) for establishing, based on the first parameters (PR1) or second parameters (PR2) obtained from the first parameters, whether at least one predefined condition (CN) is met, by comparing the first or second parameters with at least one threshold value; and a detection unit (U3) configured to detect a deterioration (EVT) of the quality of the oil representative of an abnormal state of the engine, if at least one predefined condition (CN) is met. The invention also relates to a corresponding method.
OIL LUBRICANT QUALITY SENSOR FOR A LUBRICANT SUPPORTED ELECTRIC MOTOR AND AN OIL COOLED INVERTER
A quality diagnostics system for lubricant/coolant fluid includes a lubricant supported electric motor including a stator and a rotor defining a gap therebetween, with the lubricant/coolant fluid disposed in the gap for supporting the rotor while allowing the rotor to rotate relative to the stator. An inverter includes a plurality of power switches configured to supply an alternating current (AC) power to the motor for driving the rotor to rotate. A passageway conveys the lubricant/coolant fluid between the motor and the inverter. A lubricant quality sensor includes a set of sensor plates disposed along the passageway, an excitation source configured to apply an AC excitation voltage to a first sensor plate, and an electrical sensor configured to measure a response to the AC excitation voltage. A controller determines, based on a sensor signal from the electrical sensor, at least one of metal contamination and water contamination in the lubricant/coolant fluid.
Systems and methods for lubricant dilution detection
Systems and methods for lubricant dilution detection are disclosed. A method for detecting lubricant dilution for a lubrication system includes detecting a low idle condition. The method includes receiving sensed values indicative of lubricant pressure and lubricant temperature during the low idle condition. The method also includes determining a lubricant pressure threshold based on the sensed value indicative of lubricant temperature. The method further includes determining lubricant dilution based on the sensed value indicative of lubricant pressure and the determined lubricant pressure threshold during the low idle condition. In accordance with a determination that there is lubricant dilution, the method includes outputting an indication of the lubricant dilution.
Eco-friendly vehicle and transmission hydraulic pressure control method for the same
An eco-friendly vehicle and a transmission hydraulic pressure control method for the same are provided. The vehicle includes an oil pump that estimates an inner temperature without using a temperature sensor. The method includes determining a driver request output and determining a required hydraulic pressure corresponding to the request output. A temperature of an oil pump unit is estimated to operate an electric oil pump to supply a hydraulic pressure to a transmission, based on the required hydraulic pressure and driving status information. An output torque is then adjusted based on the estimated temperature.
Controller and control method for vehicle
A controller for a vehicle is configured to execute a lubricating oil degradation degree acquisition process that calculates a degradation degree of a lubricating oil that lubricates an internal combustion engine, a battery degradation degree acquisition process that calculates a degradation degree of a battery, and an oil change time calculation process that calculates an oil change time for the lubricating oil from the degradation degree of the lubricating oil and the degradation degree of the battery. The oil change time calculation process includes calculating the oil change time so as to become earlier as the degradation degree of the battery increases.
LUBRICANT DILUTION DETECTION SYSTEM
Lubricant dilution detection systems and methods are disclosed. A method for detecting lubricant dilution for a lubrication system includes detecting a shutdown event of the lubrication system. The method includes measuring lubricant pressure during the shutdown event. The method further includes determining lubricant dilution based on the measured lubricant pressure during the shutdown event. In accordance with a determination that there is lubricant dilution, the method includes outputting an indication of the lubricant dilution.

ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ENGINES
A system includes an electronic fuel injection system of an engine, the electronic fuel injection system including an electronic governor control unit for controlling various functions of the engine.
Vehicle liquid monitoring system and method
A vehicle liquid testing system includes a liquid testing apparatus with a form factor of a dipstick. The system includes a sensor that detects a property of a fluid in a vehicle and emits a signal indicative of the property. A transmitter receives the signal from the sensor and transmits the signal. A controller receives the signal from the transmitter and compares the signal from the sensor to a threshold level to determine a condition of the fluid.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REMAINING USEFUL LIFE PREDICTION OF A FLUID
A fluid degradation monitoring system may detect a replacement of a fluid of a machine. The fluid degradation monitoring system may determine, after detecting the replacement of the fluid, a first degradation estimate of the fluid using a first technique based on characteristics relating to an operation of the machine. The fluid degradation monitoring system may detect a transition in a value of a dielectric constant of the fluid from a first phase to a second phase. The fluid degradation monitoring system may determine, after detecting the transition in the value of the dielectric constant, a second degradation estimate of the fluid using a second technique based on characteristics relating to the fluid.
