A support assembly supports an exhaust gas treatment element of an exhaust gas treatment unit for an exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine. A carrying body is secured on a housing of an exhaust gas treatment unit and surrounds an assembly center axis as a ring or annulus. At least one flexible supporting element is carried on the carrying body. The supporting element has an exhaust gas treatment element supporting side for supporting interaction with an exhaust gas treatment element. The carrying body has a radial limb at least partially engaging radially over the supporting element on a carrying body supporting side facing away from the exhaust gas treatment element supporting side. The supporting element is supported by the carrying body supporting side thereof on the radial limb so as to be shiftable radially inward with respect to the carrying body.

Flow hood assembly

A flow hood assembly for an engine aftertreatment system having a particulate filter and a selective catalytic reduction device is disclosed. An outer case defines a cavity, the outer case having an inlet and an outlet formed therein, and a neck section formed between the inlet and the outlet. A socket in the outer case is in an opposed relationship to the outlet and is shaped to receive an injector that introduces a reducing agent into the flow of exhaust gases. A baffle reduces a cross-sectional area of the cavity at the neck section to increase exhaust gas velocity at a sensor positioned at the neck section. A deflector member in the cavity between the baffle and the socket directs a portion of the exhaust gases towards the socket and across the injector nozzle.

Process for manufacturing an exhaust gas treatment device

A process manufactures an exhaust gas treatment device including a tubular circumferential wall (14) elongated along a longitudinal axis (L) with two axial end areas, an exhaust gas treatment unit (52) arranged in the circumferential wall and a closing element (20, 38) connected to the circumferential wall at the two axial end areas. The exhaust gas treatment unit is held at the circumferential wall by a supporting material layer (54) enclosing the exhaust gas treatment unit and supporting same in relation to the circumferential wall. The process includes arranging a first of the two closing elements at one of the axial end areas of the circumferential wall, pushing the exhaust gas treatment unit enclosed by the supporting material layer into the circumferential wall from the other axial end area (18), and arranging a second of the closing elements at the other axial end area of the circumferential wall.

The upstream cylinder, the purifying cylinder, and the downstream cylinder each have at an end thereof a flange portion having a flat connecting surface. Each flange portion of one of the upstream and downstream flange portions of the purifying cylinder, and the flange portions of the upstream cylinder and the downstream cylinder includes an engagement pin having an engagement recess portion. Each flange portion of the other includes a pin hole and an engagement groove. The engagement recess portion is fitted into and engaged with the engagement groove.

A panel assembly includes a panel member, a frame member, and at least one first bar member, and at least one second bar member. The at least one first bar member and the at least one second bar member divide the panel member into a plurality of first areas defining a first height and a first width. The panel assembly also includes a plurality of support arrangements for dividing each first area into a plurality of second areas. Each support arrangement includes a first support member defining a first length such that the first width defined by the first area is greater than the first length. Each support arrangement also includes a second support member defining a second length such that the first height defined by the first area is greater than the second length.

Exhaust system

An internal combustion engine exhaust system includes an exhaust gas treatment unit carried at a carrier. The carrier has a receiving opening (20), receiving the treatment unit, with a first sealing surface (28) enclosing the opening. The exhaust gas treatment unit has a second sealing surface (42), enclosing a treatment unit longitudinal axis, located opposite the first sealing surface. The exhaust gas treatment unit has a third sealing surface (44), enclosing the treatment unit longitudinal axis. A closing element (48), fixable with the exhaust gas treatment unit to the carrier, has a fourth sealing surface (50), located opposite the third sealing surface. A first sealing element (52) is arranged between the first sealing surface and the second sealing surface. A second sealing element (54) is arranged between the third sealing surface and the fourth sealing surface. The first sealing element and the second sealing element are of identical configuration.

Single module integrated aftertreatment module

A selective catalytic reduction system may include a single housing defining a single centerline axis. The selective catalytic reduction system may also include a diesel particulate filter disposed within the single housing and having a DPF center axis aligned with the single centerline axis. The selective catalytic reduction system may also include an SCR catalyst disposed within the single housing and having a center axis aligned with the single centerline axis. In some implementations, the diesel particulate filter may include one or more SiC filters. In some implementations, the SCR catalyst may include one or more extruded SCR catalysts.

The invention relates to a leakage treatment member (50) and an exhaust aftertreatment unit (40) configured to be sealingly arranged in a fluid passage (30) of an exhaust aftertreatment system for treating exhaust from an internal combustion engine, said exhaust aftertreatment unit (40) comprising an exhaust aftertreatment element (42) confined by an outer wall (44) of said exhaust aftertreatment unit, said leakage treatment member being configured to be arranged between:—an inner perimeter (32) of the fluid passage of the exhaust aftertreatment system, and—the outer wall of the exhaust aftertreatment unit, the leakage treatment member comprising an exhaust aftertreatment component for aftertreatment of any leakage of exhaust gases past said aftertreatment unit in said fluid passage.
