An exhaust tailpipe/emissions filter employs a reusable/replaceable insert and is configured to slide into and/or onto the exhaust tailpipe of an automobile to reduce air pollution.

SYSTEMS FOR REDUCING STARTUP EMISSIONS IN POWER PLANT INCLUDING GAS TURBINE

Embodiments of emission reduction system including various embodiments of an emission filters for a power plant including a gas turbine are disclosed. The system includes: an emission filter; and a retraction system operably coupled to an exhaust passage of the gas turbine. The exhaust passage defines an exhaust path of exhaust from the gas turbine. The retraction system selectively moves the emission filter between a first location within the exhaust path and a second location out of the exhaust path. In a combined cycle power plant, the first location is upstream of a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG). The systems and filters described allow for temporary positioning of emission filter(s) just downstream of a gas turbine exhaust outlet, or upstream of an HRSG, where provided, for emission reduction at low loads or startup conditions, and removal of the emission filter(s) once operations move to higher loads.

Pollutant filtering assembly

A pollutant filtering assembly for filtering pollutants from vehicle exhaust includes a tube that has a diameter which is sufficient to facilitate the tube to be inserted into an exhaust pipe of a vehicle. A sleeve extends around the tube to facilitate the exhaust pipe to extend between the tube and the sleeve. A handle is pivotally coupled to the tube for inserting the tube into the exhaust pipe. A filtering cartridge is insertable into the tube. Each filtering element of a plurality of filtering elements of the filtering cartridge is made of a unique pollutant filtering material with respect to each other. Moreover, each of the filtering elements can filter pollutants from exhaust of the vehicle.

A heat-resistant body has a cavity for exhaust gas, which is open at opposite ends. The body has first wall portions, each of which delimits a first portion of the cavity. Each first wall portion has an outer region and an inner region which has planar protrusions which each extend from the outside region inward into the associated first cavity portion, the planar protrusions tapering along the longitudinal extent in their width directed perpendicularly to the longitudinal extent and being mutually laterally spaced. Each planar protrusion of a first wall portion is rotated or shifted relative to a planar protrusion of an adjacent first wall portion. The body has second wall portions, each of which delimits a second portion of the cavity and is disposed between two adjacent first wall portions. The cross-sectional area of each second cavity portion is larger than the cross-sectional area of each first cavity portion.
