TWO-VALVE INTERNAL-COMBUSTION ENGINE
The present invention relates to an internal-combustion engine comprising at least two cylinders wherein a piston in connection with a combustion chamber moves. Said combustion chamber comprises a single intake valve (SA), a single exhaust valve (SE), a single fuel injector (ID), two spark plugs (Al) and means for creating a swumble flow in said chamber.
Internal combustion engine
An internal combustion engine comprises a fuel injector 31, a spark plug 16, a piston 14 having a cavity 91, a swirl control device 95, and a control system 70. The cavity is formed so as to change in distance from the fuel injector to a side wall surface of the cavity, in the circumferential direction. The system performs ignition assist control for successively performing injections of main fuel and ignition assist fuel, makes an air-fuel mixture formed by the ignition assist fuel burn by flame propagation by the spark plug, and makes the remaining fuel burn by pre-mix compression self-ignition. The system controls the swirl control device during the ignition assist control so that when the engine load is high, the fuel sprayed heads toward parts of the side wall surface which are short in distances from the fuel injector.
COMBUSTION CONTROL DEVICE FOR COMPRESSION AUTOIGNITION ENGINE
A combustion control device for a compression autoignition engine includes an engine, a state quantity setting device, a spark plug, a controller, and a sensor. The spark plug receives a control signal from the controller and ignites air-fuel mixture at predetermined ignition timing such that the ignited air-fuel mixture is combusted by flame propagation and then unburned air-fuel mixture in a combustion chamber is combusted by autoignition. The controller outputs a control signal to an injector such that, in a compression stroke, fuel is injected at specific timing at which a line obtained by extending an axis of each hole of the injector overlaps with a specific portion including an opening edge of a cavity in an upper surface of a piston.
Internal Combustion Engine with Spark Plug and Prechamber Spark Plug
The present disclosure relates to an internal combustion engine, comprising: at least one cylinder; two charge-exchange ports per cylinder, a first charge-exchange port being an inlet port, and a second charge-exchange port being an outlet port; and one spark plug and one prechamber spark plug per each cylinder.
Internal Combustion Engine with Spark Plug and Prechamber Spark Plug
The present disclosure relates to an internal combustion engine comprising at least one cylinder, four charge-exchange points per cylinder, wherein a first and a second charge-exchange port are each an inlet port, and wherein a third and a fourth charge-exchange port are each an outlet port, also comprising one spark plug and one prechamber spark plug per each cylinder.
CONTROL DEVICE FOR ENGINE
A control device for an engine is provided, which includes a fuel injector attached to the engine, a spark plug disposed to be oriented into a combustion chamber, a swirl control valve provided in an intake passage, and a controller connected to the fuel injector, the spark plug, and the swirl control valve and configured to control the fuel injector, the spark plug, and the swirl control valve. The swirl control valve closes in a given operating state of the engine. The fuel injector injects fuel after the swirl control valve is closed, between intake stroke and an intermediate stage of compression stroke. The fuel injector injects the fuel after the first fuel injection. The spark plug performs the ignition after the second fuel injection so that the mixture gas starts combustion by flame propagation and then unburned mixture gas self-ignites.
FUEL INJECTION DEVICE OF ENGINE
A control device of an engine including a cylinder, a piston, a cylinder head, and a combustion chamber, is provided. The device includes intake and exhaust ports, a swirl control valve, a fuel injection valve attached to the cylinder head to be oriented into the combustion chamber and having first and second nozzle ports, and a control unit. The control unit includes a processor configured to execute a swirl opening controlling module to control the swirl control valve to have a given opening at which a swirl ratio inside the combustion chamber becomes 2 or above, and a fuel injection timing controlling module to control the fuel injection valve to inject fuel at a given timing at which the swirl ratio becomes 2 or above and a swirl flow from a lower portion to a higher portion of the combustion chamber in a side view occurs.
CONTROL SYSTEM FOR COMPRESSION-IGNITION ENGINE
A control device for a compression-ignition engine is provided, which includes an engine having a plurality of cylinders, spark plug, a fuel injector, and a control unit connected to the spark plug and the fuel injector. The control unit causes the engine to perform an all-cylinder operation when the engine operates at a load above a given load, and perform a reduced-cylinder operation at a load below the given load. In the reduced-cylinder operation, the fuel injector injects fuel to one or some of the cylinders to generate mixture gas, the spark plug ignites the mixture gas, and the engine starts, at an air-fuel ratio larger than a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio and a large compression ratio, SI combustion in which the mixture gas is ignited to combust by flame propagation, and then perform CI combustion in which unburned mixture gas ignites by self-ignition.
CONTROL SYSTEM FOR PRE-MIXTURE COMPRESSION-IGNITION ENGINE
A control system for a pre-mixture compression-ignition engine is provided, configured such that in a first combustion mode, the control unit controls the fuel injection valve to have a fuel amount within a mixture gas in an outer circumferential portion of the combustion chamber larger than in the center portion, the swirl generating part to generate a swirl flow in the outer circumferential portion, and the spark plug to ignite the mixture gas in the center portion. In a second combustion mode, the control unit controls the fuel injection valve to start a fuel injection on intake stroke so that the mixture gas is formed in the entire combustion chamber, the swirl generating part so that a swirl flow becomes weaker than in the first combustion mode, and the spark plug to ignite the mixture gas before CTDC.
Control device for internal combustion engine
An intake stroke injection and a compression stroke injection are performed during catalyst warm-up control (upper section in FIG. 7). During the catalyst warm-up control, a discharge period at an electrode portion is set on a retard side of compression top dead center, and an expansion stroke injection is performed during the discharge period. However, when a distance between a spray contour surface and the electrode portion increases, an additional injection (first injection) is performed in advance of the expansion stroke injection (second injection) (lower section in FIG. 7). The additional injection is performed at a timing that is on the retard side of compression top dead center and is on an advance side relative to a start timing of the discharge at the electrode portion.
