OPPOSED PISTON HYDROGEN ENGINE AND METHOD FOR OPERATION
The system comprises an opposed piston engine. The pistons (1) consist of a top piston half (1a), a spring (1b) and a bottom piston half (1c). The cylinders (3) have inlet channels (8) for compressed air as well as outlet channels (10). fuel injector (12), steam injector (13) and ignition clement (14). A bipartite crankshaft (15) is fitted with exit shafts (19a, 19b) connected with impellers (22) via clutches (20a, 20b). Rotor rims (26) around the impellers contain magnetic dipoles (28), whereas stator rims (27) have induction coils (29). One method concerns using of resilience of a spring situated between two halves of the piston, furthermore piston halves are cooled by a spurt of compressed air. Another method concerns transferring some part of energy of the impeller to the system of collecting and transferring energy attached to it, from which energy is taken in case of an insufficient torque on the impeller shaft.
TURBOCHARGER HAVING ADJUSTABLE-TRIM CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSOR INCLUDING AIR INLET WALL HAVING CAVITIES FOR SUPPRESSION OF NOISE AND FLOW FLUCTUATIONS
A compressor for a turbocharger includes an inlet-adjustment mechanism in an air inlet for the compressor, operable to move between an open position and a closed position in the air inlet. The compressor housing upstream of the inlet-adjustment mechanism defines a series of acoustic cavities, and openings are defined in the compressor housing wall leading into the acoustic cavities. The openings and cavities are aimed at mitigating noise and flow pulsation in the air inlet caused when the inlet-adjustment mechanism is adjusted to the closed position to effectively reduce the inlet diameter approaching the compressor wheel.

TURBOCHARGER
A turbocharger includes a compressor housing, a turbine housing, a bearing housing, a variable nozzle unit, and a fixing member. The variable nozzle unit includes a first plate, a second plate, a plurality of nozzle vanes, and an attitude changing mechanism. The fixing member includes an engagement portion that is engaged with at least one of the first plate and the second plate, a through shaft portion shaped to extend through the bearing housing toward the compressor housing, and a fixing portion that fixes an end portion of the through shaft portion on the compressor housing side to the hearing housing.
ELECTRIFIED AIR SYSTEM FOR REMOVING COLD START AIDS
An intake system for use with an internal combustion engine having one or more cylinders. The intake system including a compressor assembly having an inlet and an outlet, and where the outlet is configured to be open to and in fluid communication with at least one of the one or more cylinders. The intake system also includes a passageway extending between and in fluid communication with the inlet and the outlet and configured to direct a first flow of gasses and a controller in operable communication with the compressor assembly. Where the intake system is operable in a first mode in which the majority of gasses of the first flow of gasses flow through the passageway toward the outlet, and a second mode in which the majority of gasses of the first flow of gasses flow through the passageway toward the inlet.

TURBOCHARGER AND TURBINE WHEEL FOR A TURBINE OF A TURBOCHARGER
A turbine wheel for a turbine of a turbocharger. The turbine wheel includes a plurality of turbine blades distributed evenly about the axis of rotation; and a plurality of inter-blade portions distributed evenly about the axis of rotation. Each of the inter-blade portions is disposed between two blades and each of the blades is disposed between two inter-blade portions, the inter-blade portions and the turbine blades being integrally formed. A cross-section, taken along a plane normal to the axis of rotation, of a surface of each inter-blade portion of the plurality of inter-blade portions being described by a smooth curve extending between the two turbines blades of the plurality of turbine blades between which the inter-blade portion is disposed. In some cases, the smooth curve of each inter-blade portion is described by a curve fitted to a biomimicry design form extending between the first blade and the second blade.
