An e-charger includes a shaft supported for rotation about an axis. The e-charger also includes a compressor wheel that is attached to the shaft. The e-charger further includes an electric motor configured to drive the shaft and the compressor wheel in rotation. Also, the e-charger includes a housing that houses the electric motor and at least part of the shaft. Moreover, the e-charger includes a dampening system incorporated in the housing and configured to dampen loads transferring through the housing. The dampening system includes at least one solid-state dampener that is resiliently flexible, and the dampening system includes at least one fluid viscous dampener.
FLUID PUMPING SYSTEM
Fluid pumping system for a vehicle with an internal combustion engine, the fluid pumping system comprising: a housing; an electric motor; a planetary gear with a first member that can be driven by the internal combustion engine, a second member driven by the electric motor, and a third member; and a pump driven by the third element of the planetary gear set, the housing being closed by a pump flange and a pulley with pulley cover, wherein at least the pulley and/or a ring gear disposed in the pulley is made of plastic.
CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSOR AND TURBOCHARGER
A centrifugal compressor includes: an impeller; a compressor inlet tube configured to guide air to the impeller; a scroll flow passage disposed on a radially outer side of the impeller; a bypass flow passage branching from the scroll flow passage via a branch port, the bypass flow passage connecting to the compressor inlet tube not via the impeller; and a bypass valve capable of opening and closing a valve port disposed in the bypass flow passage. The branch port has a non-circular shape when viewed along a normal N1 of the branch port passing through a center of the branch port.
Externally powered turbine for an internal combustion engine
Described herein is a turbocharging system comprising a compressor having an air inlet and a compressed air outlet, the compressed air outlet to couple with the intake manifold of the internal combustion engine, a first turbine coupled to the compressor, the compressor driven without using power from the internal combustion engine; and a vacuum compressor coupled directly or indirectly to the first turbine. The first turbine can drive a common drive shaft that includes the compressor and the vacuum compressor or output of the first compressor can drive a second compressor that is coupled with the vacuum compressor. The vacuum compressor can be used to scavenge exhaust from the internal combustion engine.

RECIPROCATING ENGINE SYSTEM WITH ELECTRICALLY DRIVEN COMPRESSOR AND METHOD FOR OPERATING SAME
A reciprocating engine system includes a turbocharger system including a mechanically driven compressor, an electrically driven compressor, and a compressor bypass valve. A control system is programmed for generating control signals for: under nominal full load operating conditions, minimizing gas flow through the compressor bypass valve and compressing gas within the electrically driven compressor to maintain a speed set point or a full load power set point of the reciprocating engine system, under off nominal full load operating conditions wherein an efficiency of the mechanically driven compressor is reduced, compressing gas within the electrically driven compressor to compensate for the reduced efficiency of the mechanically driven compressor and to maintain the speed set point or the full load power set point of the reciprocating engine system, and under partial load operating conditions, partially diverting the gas flow through the compressor bypass valve in response to the reduced load.
