Control apparatus of engine
A control apparatus of an engine comprises: fuel injection control device that controlling injection amounts of fuel injected from a first fuel injection valve, which injects fuel into an intake path of the engine, and a second fuel injection valve, which injects fuel into a combustion chamber of the engine, in accordance with the operating state of the engine; and valve control device that changes the open/closed state of the waste gate valve in accordance with the injection amounts of fuel injected from the first fuel injection valve and the second fuel injection valve. The fuel injection control device increases the injection amount of fuel injected from the second fuel injection valve in accordance with an increase in the load or speed of the engine. The valve control device changes the open/closed state of the waste gate valve in the sequence of an opening direction, a closing direction, and an opening direction as the injection amount of fuel injected from the second fuel injection valve increases.

Engine intake assembly with selector valve
An intake assembly for a compressor providing compressed air to an internal combustion engine core, including an air conduit having at least one heat exchanger extending thereacross, an intake plenum for the compressor, a first intake conduit connected to the air conduit upstream of the heat exchanger(s), a second intake conduit connected to the air conduit downstream of the heat exchanger(s), and a selector valve configurable between a first configuration to allow a fluid communication between the intake plenum and the air conduit through the first intake conduit and a second configuration to prevent the fluid communication through the first intake conduit. Fluid communication between the intake plenum and the air conduit through the second intake conduit is allowed at least when the selector valve is in the second configuration. An engine assembly and method of supplying air to a compressor are also discussed.
COMPRESSOR OVERRIDE CONTROL
An engine system incorporating an intake manifold, a compressor, and a controller. The compressor may provide air to the intake manifold and the controller may be connected to the intake manifold and the compressor. The controller may receive a control signal and control air flow from the compressor to the intake manifold based on the received control signal. The controller may control the air flow from the compressor to the intake manifold based on a first equation when a value related to the control signal is on a first side of a threshold and according to a second equation when the value is on a second side of the threshold. The controller may control the air flow between the compressor and intake manifold according to the second equation to prevent the compressor from operating at a surge condition when controlling the air flow according to the first equation.
Centrifugal compressor and turbocharger
A diffuser includes a ring-shaped parallel part, and a ring-shaped throttling part formed continuously to the inside of the parallel part in a radial direction. A wall surface of the throttling part includes a flow passage area minimum portion which makes minimal a flow passage area of the diffuser, and a ring-shaped protruding portion located closer to the outlet side of the compressor wheel than the flow passage area minimum portion, and protruding toward the flow passage of the diffuser.

Method and system for assisting engine start with a supercharger
Methods and systems are provided for reliable starting an engine during cold start. In one example, a method may include in response to an engine start request, warming up an intake manifold by compressing intake air via an electric supercharger, and adjusting an intake manifold pressure before starting a first combustion of the engine.
