METHOD AND SYSTEMS FOR AN ENERGY RECOVERY AND ENERGY CONVERTING UNIT FOR AN ENGINE
Various methods and systems are provided for generating exhaust energy and converting exhaust energy to electrical energy while an engine is not running. In one example, a system for an engine comprises: a first turbocharger including a first compressor driven by a first turbine, the first turbine disposed in an exhaust of the engine; a fuel burner fluidly coupled to the exhaust upstream of the first turbine; a generator coupled to one of the first turbine or an auxiliary, second turbine fluidly coupled to the exhaust downstream of the fuel burner; and one or more bypass valves configured to adjust a flow of air that bypasses the engine and is delivered to the fuel burner.
Method of removing impurities from EGR by air blowing, EGR system, and vehicle including the same
A method of removing impurities from EGR by air blowing may include performing an air-blowing mode in which, when a current intake system pressure detected by a controller exceeds a target intake system pressure in an intake system, in which a mixture is supplied to an engine, a portion of the mixture, serving as compressed air, flows into an EGR path, through which a portion of exhaust, serving as EGR gas and flowing in the intake system and an exhaust system connected to the intake system, is supplied to the engine.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE COMBINED INJECTION OF AIR AND EXHAUST GASSES AT THE INTAKE OF A SUPERCHARGED INTERNAL-COMBUSTION ENGINE
The present invention relates to a device and to a method for controlling the amount of air fed to the intake of a turbocharged internal-combustion engine comprising a turbocharging system including a turbocharger (7) with a turbine (8) connected to at least one exhaust gas outlet of exhaust manifold (5) of said engine, as well as an outside air compressor (10), a line (15, 18) for partial transfer of the compressed air from the compressor to an inlet on the manifold communicating with the turbine, and an EGR line (21) connecting an exhaust gas outlet to a compressed air intake line (4).
Turbocharger system for a two-stroke engine
A turbocharger and method of controlling the same includes a turbine housing comprising an inlet and an outlet, turbine wheel coupled to a shaft. The turbine housing comprising a first scroll and a second scroll for fluidically coupling the inlet and the turbine wheel. The first scroll has a first end adjacent the inlet and a second end adjacent the turbine wheel. The second scroll has a third end adjacent the inlet and a fourth end adjacent the turbine wheel. An exhaust gas diverter valve is coupled to the turbine housing restricting flow into the first scroll or the second scroll.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR A TURBOCHARGER
Methods and systems are provided for a compressor of an exhaust-gas turbocharger. In one example, a system may include where a housing of the compressor comprises two outlets, a first outlet shaped to direct compressed air to an electrically driveable compressor and a second outlet shaped to bypass compressed air around the electrically driveable compressor.
Solenoid Activated Vacuum Pump for an Engine System and System Having Same
Start-stop engine systems for a turbocharged engine have a bypass with fluid flow from upstream of the compressor or downstream of the compressor to a position between the throttle and the engine, or from between the compressor and throttle to a position upstream of the compressor with a Venturi device in the bypass. A device requiring vacuum is in fluid communication with a suction port of the Venturi device. An electronic vacuum pump is added that is in fluid communication with the device requiring vacuum or with the Venturi device. The electronic vacuum pump is operated during a stop condition of the start-stop engine to replace the vacuum generated by the Venturi device or to provide a pressure drop across the Venturi device so the Venturi device continues to generate vacuum for the device requiring vacuum.
Method and system for boosted engine system
Methods and systems are provided for operating an electric supercharger as an on-board air pump and/or vacuum pump. During conditions when a vehicle is not being propelled and the vehicle engine is idling, a portion of an air intake passage is sealed and the supercharger is operated to deliver compressed air into the sealed portion. Compressed air can then be picked up directly from the sealed portion for use in tire inflation, or picked up via an ejector to provide vacuum for vacuum actuators.
Internal combustion engine system
An internal combustion engine system includes an internal combustion engine, an exhaust system, an exhaust gas recirculation circuit and a turbocharger including a first turbine interacting with a first compressor for charging air to the internal combustion engine. An exhaust gas recirculation passage is arranged to divert exhaust gases from the internal combustion engine upstream the first turbine and to debouch the exhaust gases downstream the first compressor. The internal combustion engine includes a bleed air channel which is located to divert compressed air at a location in or downstream from the first compressor and upstream of the internal combustion engine. A second turbine is arranged for receiving bleed air from the bleed air channel to recover energy from the bleed air channel. A vehicle including such an internal combustion engine system is also provided.
