Apparatus of controlling hybrid vehicle having electric supercharger and method thereof
A control apparatus for a hybrid vehicle includes an engine that combusts fuel to generate power. A drive motor assists the engine power and selectively operates as a generator to generate electrical energy. A clutch is disposed between the engine and drive motor. A battery supplies electrical energy to the drive motor or is charged by the generated electrical energy. A DC converter transforms a DC from the battery. An electric supercharger supplies supercharged air to the engine. A controller determines an optimal air amount to maximize system efficiency based on a drive motor limited output value determined by a battery SOC, and determines an output drive motor power output and an output engine power output based on the optimal air amount when an atmospheric pressure is less than a predetermined pressure, intake temperature is greater than a predetermined temperature and the SOC is less than a predetermined value.
TURBOMACHINE WITH ROLLER ELEMENT BEARING ARRANGEMENT
A bearing arrangement for a turbomachine includes first and second roller element bearings. The first bearing and the second bearing are disposed on opposite axial ends of an intermediate sleeve of the rotating group. The first bearing has a first inner race with a first inner radial surface and a first outer radial surface. The first inner radial surface has a first interference fit with a shaft of the rotating group. The first outer radial surface has a second interference fit with the intermediate sleeve. The second bearing has a second inner race with a second inner radial surface and a second outer radial surface. The second inner race receives the shaft with a clearance fit. The second outer radial surface has a third interference fit with the intermediate sleeve. The second inner race is coaxially aligned with the first inner race and the shaft via coaxial alignment of the intermediate sleeve and the first inner race.

A power system includes an engine; an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system supplying a first portion of the engine exhaust gas from the exhaust manifold to the intake manifold; a turbine generator in communication with the exhaust manifold and configured to be driven by a second portion of the engine exhaust gas from the exhaust manifold to generate electrical power; a power network including at least one battery to store the electrical power generated by the turbine generator; and an electric compressor in fluid communication with the intake manifold and configured to be powered by the electrical power from the at least one battery of the power network and to compress at least a portion of the intake air for the engine.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR AFTERTREATMENT PERFORMANCE
Methods and systems are proposed for controlling a temperature of exhaust gases generated by the engine by operating an E-Turbo of the vehicle. In one embodiment, a method is provided, comprising increasing a power generated by an electric machine mechanically coupled with an exhaust turbine of an E-Turbo of a vehicle or adjusting an engine power based on a speed of the exhaust turbine and an air-fuel ratio (AFR) of an engine of the vehicle of the engine responsive to the speed of the exhaust turbine increasing above a threshold turbine speed. By increasing or decreasing the power generated by the electric machine and/or adjusting the engine power, the temperature of the exhaust gas may be maintained within a threshold temperature range where an efficiency of an aftertreatment system may be maximized, thereby reducing an emissions of the vehicle.
