In an example, this includes operating the engine with boosted intake pressure via a supercharger and with supercharger flow regulated by a vacuum actuated bypass valve, and in response to a supercharger outlet temperature greater than a first threshold, increasing a blow through air passing from the engine intake to engine exhaust without combustion in a cylinder of the engine due to engine intake and exhaust valves having positive valve overlap; and then in response to the supercharger outlet temperature greater than a second, higher, threshold, limiting engine airflow.
ENGINE EQUIPPED WITH SUPERCHARGER
There is provided an engine equipped with a supercharger that suppresses heat deterioration of engine oil. The engine equipped with a supercharger includes a supercharger; an oil supply passage that supplies engine oil to a shaft bearing part of the supercharger; an oil discharge passage that discharges the engine oil from the shaft bearing part of the supercharger; and a water-cooling-type oil cooler. The water-cooling-type oil cooler is provided in the oil discharge passage, and the engine oil discharged from the shaft bearing part of the supercharger is cooled by the engine cooling water that passes the water-cooling-type oil cooler. The engine cooling water is desirably supplied from the cylinder jacket to the water-cooling-type oil cooler.
Turbocharger
A turbocharger has a turbine for expanding a first medium and a compressor for compressing a second medium utilizing energy extracted in the turbine. The turbine includes a housing with a turbine inflow housing and a turbine rotor. The compressor has a compressor housing and a compressor rotor coupled to the turbine rotor via a shaft. The turbine inflow housing is constructed in a spiral-like, one-piece and double-walled manner such that between an outer wall of the turbine inflow housing and an inner wall of the turbine inflow housing a water duct for conducting cooling water is formed. The inner wall delimiting the water duct on a side of the inner wall facing away from the water duct is directly followed by a guide duct of the first medium to be expanded.
ENGINE DRIVE APPARATUS
There is disclosed an engine drive apparatus comprising an engine configured to generate a power by combusting mixed gas of air and gas fuel; a fan assembly arranged in an upstream of the engine and configured to super-charge the mixed gas towards the engine; and a mixer provided in an upstream of the fan assembly and configured to mix the air and the fuel with each other, wherein the fan assembly comprises a motor; and a fan connected with the motor via a shaft to drive, and the air is supplied to the mixer after passing through the motor.
Method and system for engine water injection
Methods and systems are provided for injecting water stored in a water reservoir at a plurality of locations in an engine system, including directly into engine cylinders, upstream of a turbocharger turbine, and at an exhaust manifold, and controlling a water level of the water reservoir. In one example, a method may include supplying the water stored in the water reservoir to one or more of a water injection system, a windshield wiper system, an engine coolant system, and a drinking water system based on water supply conditions and responsive to engine operating conditions. When the water level is low (e.g., below a threshold), supply to the water injection system may be prioritized.
Bearing condition monitoring device, turbocharger, and bearing condition monitoring method
A bearing condition monitoring device is a bearing condition monitoring device for monitoring a condition of a thrust bearing for holding a rotational shaft in a thrust direction. The bearing condition monitoring device includes a first temperature sensor for measuring a temperature of the thrust bearing, and an arithmetic device for counting a frequency at which an evaluation index of a thrust load on the basis of a measurement value by the first temperature sensor exceeds an allowable value, and for outputting an abnormality in the condition of the thrust bearing if the counted frequency exceeds a threshold. The arithmetic device may count, as the frequency, only a case where a state in which the thrust load exceeds an upper limit load continues for not less than a predetermined time.
SUPERCHARGING DEVICE FOR ENGINE
A supercharging device for an engine is provided, which includes a supercharger provided to an intake passage of the engine, an actuator configured to drive the supercharger, and a controller including a processor configured to control the actuator to drive the supercharger when an operating state of the engine is in a given supercharging range, and to stop the supercharger when the operating state is in a non-supercharging range. The controller causes the actuator to forcibly drive the supercharger in the non-supercharging range when a temperature of the supercharger is lower than a preset temperature, and prohibits the forcible drive of the supercharger when a rotation speed of the supercharger during the forcible drive of the supercharger is lower than a preset rotation speed.

A number of variations may include a product comprising an engine having an intake manifold and an exhaust manifold; a turbocharger having a compressor operatively attached to a turbine, wherein the compressor is in fluid communication with the intake manifold through a first conduit and the turbine is in fluid communication with the exhaust manifold through a second conduit; an actuator in operative communication with one of a vane pack or a wastegate; a charge air cooler disposed within the first conduit; a first air filter in fluid communication with the compressor through a third conduit; a mass air flow sensor disposed within the third conduit; and an actuator cooling system operatively attached to an interior of the actuator to deliver an air flow to the interior of the actuator to cool the actuator.
Supercharger cooling means
According to the present invention, a rotary blower or supercharger includes a recirculation loop for readmitting pressurized outlet gas back into the rotor chambers, and cooling means for cooling the pressurized outlet gas before it is readmitted into the rotor chambers, thereby providing a supercharger having a lower operating temperature and a higher operating pressure capability. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, a supercharger includes a housing assembly defining first and second transversely overlapping cylindrical chambers. The housing defines an inlet port for the inflow of an inlet gas, and an outlet port for the outflow of the outlet gas. The supercharger further has first and second meshed, lobed rotors respectively disposed in the chambers for counter rotation about axes substantially coincident with the chamber axes. According to the present invention, the housing further includes a recirculation port and a recirculation flow path for recirculation of a portion of outlet gas flowing out of the outlet port back into cylindrical chamber. The recirculation flow path further including cooling means for cooling of at least a portion of the outlet gas, thereby providing a cooler operating supercharger.
