Combine header equipped with an automated header transport system

A header including at least one support and transport wheel assembly having an axle and two wheels. The wheel assembly is coupled to the main body of the header by an actuating system that has two actuator mechanisms. When changing from the field mode to the transport mode, the first actuator mechanism brings the wheel assembly forward from a position behind the header, after the header has been lifted up from the ground. After completion of this first movement, a second actuator mechanism swivels the wheel assembly to a position that is transversal to the header, after which the header is lowered to the ground. The two-step approach enables the changeover between field mode and transport mode without pivoting or otherwise moving the header relative to the feeder. The wheel axle may be pivotably suspended from a frame element that executes the swiveling movement.

A rigid height control system configured to be coupled to a header includes a rigid arm pivotally coupled to a shaft. The rigid arm includes an upper end and a lower end, wherein the lower end is configured to engage a ground surface. The rigid height control system includes a metal channel guide coupled to the shaft and a magnet embedded within the rigid arm adjacent the upper end. The magnet is configured to keep the rigid arm attached to the metal channel guide via a magnetic force so that the lower end engages the ground surface when the agricultural harvester travels in a forward direction. The magnet is configured, when the agricultural harvester travels in a reverse direction causing a force exerted by the ground surface on the rigid arm to exceed the magnetic force, to allow a release of the rigid arm from the metal channel guide.

A work unit to be attached to a lower side of a work vehicle that includes a wheel includes a work portion, a housing that covers the work portion, a bridge portion that is provided above the housing, auxiliary plates that change their positions between a state of being housed in the bridge portion and a state of protruding from the bridge portion, a linkage mechanism that is provided in the bridge portion and is connected to the auxiliary plates, and an operation tool for operating the linkage mechanism. As a result of operating the operation tool, the linkage mechanism is folded or unfolded, and positions of the auxiliary plates are changed between the state of being housed in the bridge portion and the state of protruding from the bridge portion.

The controller is configured for: detecting when the header raises in the vertical direction; recording a header raising point where the header raises; determining when the swath roller reaches the header raising point; and signaling the roller actuator to raise the swath roller when the swath roller reaches the header raising point.

An agricultural implement comprises: a main frame, an operational unit interconnected to the main frame, and a height adjustment apparatus interconnected to the main frame and the operational unit. The height adjustment apparatus comprises a terrain contact element that can be positioned to contact a terrain surface such that the contact element supports the operational unit at a vertical separation distance of the operational unit above the terrain surface. The height adjustment apparatus can adjust the vertical separation distance of the operational unit above the terrain surface. A shock absorbing assembly is operationally positioned between the main frame and the terrain contact element and provides for resilient deformation in response to forces transmitted during operation to the terrain contact element, from contact with the terrain surface. The shock absorbing assembly may absorb and/or cushion forces imparted to a component of the height adjustment apparatus.

Ground Height Gauge Assembly

A ground height gauge assembly is provided. The ground height gauge assembly includes a shaft configured to be rotatably coupled to the header. The ground height gauge assembly includes a first arm coupled to the shaft and configured to simultaneously rotate with the shaft, the first arm defining a first length. The ground height gauge assembly includes a second arm pivotally coupled to the shaft and defining a second length, the second arm configured to be mounted in a first position and a second position. The second length of the second arm is dimensioned greater than the first length of the first arm. In the first position the second arm is configured to rotate independently of the first arm. In the second position the second arm is configured to be coupled to the first arm such that rotation of the first arm simultaneously rotates the second arm.
