A first conduit is coupled to the first compressor, and a heat exchanger is in fluid communication with the first compressor via the first conduit. A second conduit is positioned proximal to the heat exchanger. A combustor is in fluid communication with the heat exchanger via the second conduit and is configured to generate a high-temperature gas stream. A third conduit is coupled to the combustor, and a first thrust augmentation device is in fluid communication with the combustor via the third conduit. The heat exchanger is positioned within the gas stream generated by the combustor.

A turbine comprising: a turbine housing, a wastegate passage connecting the turbine inlet and the turbine outlet; and a wastegate valve comprising a movable valve member. The wastegate valve has an open state in which a first gas may pass between a turbine inlet a turbine outlet via the wastegate passage and a closed state in which the valve member substantially prevents said first gas from passing between the turbine inlet and the turbine outlet. The valve member is mounted to an actuation member that passes through a bore of the turbine housing. The actuation member is movable to move the wastegate valve between the open and closed states. The turbine comprises a fluid conduit configured to deliver a second gas to the bore to form a fluidic seal between the bore and the actuation member to substantially prevent the passage of said first gas along the bore.

The wastegate channel extends along a channel axis, and the channel axis is obliquely oriented with respect to the valve seat plane such that the wastegate channel and the valve element are configured to direct exhaust gas to a catalytic converter.

A gas turbine is including having a first intake, a first discharge and a power output shaft, said power output shaft providing rotation power output generated from a change in entropy of the gas through the turbine. A power turbine superheats the gas discharge and includes a turbocharger in operational communication with an electric DC motor, and a compressor mechanically driven by the turbocharger. The discharge from the compressor forms the turbine steam intake. A water injection system may be further provided for adding steam to the air recirculating circuit. A drive motor operatively coupled to the turbine may be used for startup to bring the turbine up to operational rotation speeds. A DC generator operatively coupled to recharge a battery driving the drive motor or for providing electrical power output.
TURBINE ARRANGEMENT WITH SEPARATE GUIDE DEVICE
Disclosed is a turbine arrangement for a supercharging device. The turbine arrangement comprises a turbine housing, a turbine wheel and a guide device. The turbine housing defines a turbine spiral and a turbine outlet. The turbine wheel is arranged in the turbine housing between the turbine spiral and the turbine outlet. The guide device comprises a carrier ring and multiple guide blades. The guide blades are arranged on the carrier ring fixedly in a predetermined orientation. The guide device is arranged in an inflow channel between the turbine spiral and the turbine wheel such that, during operation, fluids are conducted from the turbine spiral through the inflow channel over the guide blades onto the turbine wheel.
