A trimmer head for use with either clockwise or counterclockwise trimmer heads, including the use of a bidirectionally dispensing spool. Various locations of passages straight through the trimmer head and spool are shown along with various locations of components of the ratcheting mechanism to allow for winding of the trimmer line on the trimmer head and for limiting the amount of line dispensed during “bumping” of the trimmer head knob on the ground. Additionally, an extended funnel into the passage can be provided to facilitate entrance of trimmer line into the funnel even when the line is not perfectly straight. Also, spokes can be used in place of the flanges of the spool to save material and cost, while still providing a guide and barrier between the line store areas.

The grass cutting head (1), configured for rotation around a rotation axis, comprises a housing (3) for a cutting line (F); a space (5) inside the housing for winding a stock of cutting line; at least one hole (3B) in a side wall (3A) of the housing (3), through which the cutting line (F) passes from the inner space (5) towards the outside of the housing; At least one cutting blade (21) with at least one cutting edge (23) is associated with the housing (3) of the grass cutting head (1).

The present invention relates to a lawnmower string line adapter blade device primarily comprised of a body further comprised of a top surface, a bottom surface, at least one central fastener opening, at least one central string opening, at least one perimeter string opening, and at least one string. In the preferred embodiment, the body is generally circular in shape and can be attached via at least one fastener that is placed through a central fastener opening to the blade mounting area of a lawnmower. The central string openings and perimeter string openings further surround the central fastener opening in a radial fashion such that the string can be woven through the central string openings and the perimeter string openings to be secured to the body. In the preferred embodiment, a plurality of separate nylon strings are woven through the openings to create quasi-blades.

A vegetation cutting tool includes a cutting head, an input shaft, an output shaft, a transmission assembly and a transmission housing accommodating the transmission assembly. The transmission housing includes a skirt portion having a small end located away from the cutting head and a big end located adjacent to the cutting head, a shank extending along the first axis from the skirt portion, and a stop portion connecting the skirt portion and the shank. The stop portion forms a stop face extending from the skirt portion to the shank for preventing grass clippings winding around the transmission housing.

A vegetation cutting tool includes a cutting head, an input shaft, an output shaft, a transmission assembly and a transmission housing accommodating the transmission assembly. The transmission housing includes a skirt portion having a small end located away from the cutting head and a big end located adjacent to the cutting head, a shank extending along the first axis from the skirt portion, and a stop portion connecting the skirt portion and the shank. The stop portion forms a stop face extending from the skirt portion to the shank for preventing grass clippings winding around the transmission housing.

A filament cutterhead is provided for mounting on the drive shaft of a brushcutter. The filament cutterhead includes a housing with a circumferential wall wherein a first wall opening for a cutting filament is formed. A filament spool arranged in the housing is rotatable relative to the housing. A filament channel with a filament inlet segment is provided in a partition wall of the filament spool. The filament channel extends from the filament inlet segment past the hub to a filament outlet segment which is assigned a second wall opening in the circumferential wall. The filament outlet segment is at an offset (v) with respect to the filament inlet segment in the circumferential direction of the hub. The mouth of the filament inlet segment and the mouth of the filament outlet segment lie within an outside diameter (A) of the partition wall and open into a pass-through space.

A weed trimmer apparatus is disclosed, including a head comprising a body portion defining a trimmer member passage configured to receive a trimmer member and defining an aperture configured to receive a trimmer retention member in the form of a pin into the trimmer member passage. At least one or more trimmer member retention members comprising a pin operatively connected to the head for retaining one or more trimmer members. The pin is positionable within the body portion, movable from a trimmer member retention position to a trimmer release position, such that the moveable pin clears the passage in the trimmer release position, and such that the moveable pin extends across the trimmer member passage in the trimmer member retention position. The pin retention member is configured to extend through an aperture of at least one trimmer member to retain the trimmer member during operation of the weed trimmer apparatus.

A weed trimmer apparatus is disclosed, including a head comprising a body portion defining a trimmer member passage configured to receive a trimmer member and defining an aperture configured to receive a trimmer retention member in the form of a pin into the trimmer member passage. At least one or more trimmer member retention members comprising a pin operatively connected to the head for retaining one or more trimmer members. The pin is positionable within the body portion, movable from a trimmer member retention position to a trimmer release position, such that the moveable pin clears the passage in the trimmer release position, and such that the moveable pin extends across the trimmer member passage in the trimmer member retention position. The pin retention member is configured to extend through an aperture of at least one trimmer member to retain the trimmer member during operation of the weed trimmer apparatus.
