The invention provides a method for controlling a vehicle (1) comprising a drivetrain comprising at least one drive device (2) adapted to generate mechanical power, the method comprising—controlling the vehicle to perform a mission comprising a plurality of stages (MS1-MS12), —collecting operational data relevant to the operation of the drivetrain, wherein the operational data indicate a de-rate of a component of the drivetrain, a fault of a component of the drivetrain, and/or an environmental condition which influences the drivetrain operation, —determining an expected mission stage (MS1-MS12), —determining, in dependence on the operational data, the propulsive capacity (CA1-CA3) in at least two different operational areas (A1-A3) of the drive device (2), —mapping the operational area propulsive capacities (CA1-CA3) to the expected mission stage (MS1-MS12), and—controlling the vehicle (1) in dependence on said mapping.

Hybrid vehicle

A hybrid vehicle includes an internal combustion engine, electric motors, an electric supercharger, a battery, and a controller. The controller determines whether to increase a total electric power supply amount to the electric motor and the electric supercharger from the battery based on a state of charge of the battery. When so determined, electric power supply promotion control is performed to increase the total electric power supply amount from the battery. In the electric power supply promotion control, the controller controls the electric power supply amount to the electric motors and the electric supercharger so as to maximize fuel save rate, which is the percentage of decrease of the fuel consumption of an internal combustion engine relative to an increase in the total electric power supply amount from the battery.

Device and method for inhibiting unintended vehicle acceleration

The inhibition device includes a micro-controller configured with a triggering condition including a number of intervals and, for each interval, a corresponding duration and a corresponding threshold. Each interval is a range specifying how much the vehicle's acceleration pedal has changed its position in terms of percentages of a pedal stroke. Each duration specifies the fastest time duration allowable for the acceleration pedal to attain a corresponding interval of pedal position change. The micro-controller converts progress signals of the acceleration pedal to corresponding percentages, obtains a difference DEF between the successive percentages, records a time duration RES between successive progress signals, and calculates DEF/RES=X. When X is greater than or equal to a threshold of a corresponding interval, the micro-controller sends an idle signal to the vehicle's engine control unit or intercepts the progress signals to prevent them from reaching the engine control unit.

MIXED FUEL SYSTEM

The present invention provides a novel combination of devices to measure and transmit to an electronic controller data pertaining to differential pressures, temperatures, regeneration status, exhaust content, accumulated gas consumption and substitute fuel consumption. The electronic controller compares the data to thresholds; when the controller receives signals indicating these thresholds or limits are met, the controller causes the gas substitution rate to be diminished or set to zero until after-treatments elements are fully regenerated thereby facilitating integration of a mixed fuel system with an application internal combustion engine.

SURGICAL STAPLING INSTRUMENT HAVING A RELEASABLE BUTTRESS MATERIAL

A surgical stapler including an anvil, a staple cartridge, and a buttress material removably retained to the anvil and/or staple cartridge. In various embodiments, the staple cartridge can include at least one staple removably stored therein which can, when deployed, or fired, therefrom, contact the buttress material and remove the buttress material from the anvil and/or staple cartridge. In at least one embodiment, the anvil can include at least one lip and/or groove configured to removably retain the buttress material to the anvil until deformable members extending from the surgical staple are bent by the anvil and are directed toward and contact the buttress material.

Surgical stapling instrument having a releasable buttress material

A staple cartridge comprising a cartridge body, staples, and a sled is disclosed. The cartridge body comprises a longitudinal slot separating the cartridge body into a first lateral side and a second lateral side. The cartridge body further comprises a first longitudinal row of staple cavities defined in the first lateral side and a second longitudinal row of staple cavities defined in the first lateral side. The staple cavities of the first longitudinal row of staple cavities are angled toward the longitudinal slot. Gaps are present between the staple cavities in the first longitudinal row of staple cavities. The staple cavities of the second longitudinal row of staple cavities are angled toward the longitudinal slot. The staple cavities of the second longitudinal row of staple cavities are laterally aligned with the gaps. The staples are removably stored in the first and second longitudinal rows of staple cavities.

A control system for a vehicle is provided, which includes a driving force source configured to generate torque for driving drive wheels, a steering angle related value sensor configured to detect a steering angle related value of a steering device, and a controller configured to control the torque to control the vehicle attitude based on the steering angle related value. The controller acquires a current traveling mode defining a response of acceleration or deceleration of the vehicle to an accelerator pedal operation. Based on the steering angle related value, when determined that a turning operation of the steering device in one direction is performed, the controller performs a torque decreasing control to add deceleration to the vehicle. When the acquired traveling mode is a high response traveling mode, the controller increases a reduction amount of the torque in the torque decreasing control more than in a low response traveling mode.
