Fuel switchover control system for a multi-fuel generator
A movable electrical generation system includes a generator operable to produce a supply of electrical energy, a prime mover operable to drive the generator, a first fuel, a second fuel different from the first fuel, and a fuel selector valve assembly operable to selectively deliver the first fuel and the second fuel to the prime mover, wherein in response to a transition from delivery of the first fuel to the prime mover to delivery of the second fuel to the prime mover, both the first and second fuels are delivered to the prime mover before cessation of delivery of the first fuel.
Apparatus and method for unclogging a filter of a pumping group for pumping diesel to an internal combustion engine
Unclogging group for unclogging a filter of a pumping group for pumping diesel to an internal combustion engine, the unclogging group (1) comprising: —a metering unit (2) supplied by diesel leaving a low pressure pump and configured for feeding in a controlled manner the diesel to a high pressure pump; the metering unit (2) comprising an electromagnetic head (4) provided with a coil (6) and a control valve (5) for controlling the diesel flow; —a filter (30) associated with the control valve (5); —a temperature sensor (34) for measuring the ambient temperature; —a control unit (31) coupled at one side to the temperature sensor (34) and at another side to the coil (6); wherein the control unit (31) is configured so that once it has received the starting input of the pumping group it compares the temperature measured by the temperature sensor (34) with a threshold value, and if the temperature measured by the temperature sensor (34) is less than the threshold value the control unit (31) commands a delay of the starting of the pumping group of a period wherein the control unit (31) supplies electrical current to the coil (6).
Engine
An engine operable in a premixed combustion system and a diffusion combustion system. The engine includes a main fuel injection valve, a pilot fuel injection valve, a liquid fuel tank, a main fuel supply path, a pilot fuel supply path, a pilot fuel filter, a pilot fuel high-pressure pump, a pilot fuel tank, and a pilot fuel supply pump. The pilot fuel tank stores pilot fuel sent from the pilot fuel high-pressure pump and not injected by the pilot fuel injection valve. This pilot fuel is sent to an automatic backwash filter and a pilot fuel filter while not passing through the liquid fuel tank.
Fuel supply valve for a slurry fuel injector valve
A fuel supply valve for a slurry fuel injector valve, the fuel supply valve comprising: a fuel inlet for fluid communication with a slurry fuel reservoir; a fuel outlet for fluid communication with a nozzle of the fuel injector valve; a pump chamber port for fluid communication with a pump chamber of the fuel injector valve; and a valve gate moveable between a first position, at which the fuel inlet is in fluid communication along a first slurry fuel flow path with the pump chamber port, and a second position, at which the fuel outlet is in fluid communication along a second slurry fuel flow path with the pump chamber port; wherein the valve gate is operable with a valve actuation liquid from an engine.
Fuel injection valve
Disclosed is a slurry fuel injector valve, comprising: a fuel outlet valve through which slurry fuel is able to exit the slurry fuel injector valve towards a combustion chamber of an engine; a pump cavity; a pump element that divides the pump cavity into a pump chamber and an actuation chamber; a fuel conduit through which slurry fuel is flowable from the pump chamber to the fuel outlet valve; and an actuation fluid conduit through which actuation fluid is flowable from the actuation chamber to the fuel outlet valve.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR THE USE OF BIODIESEL IN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES WITH DIESEL CYCLE
A method for using biodiesel fuel in compression ignition internal combustion engines is described, the biodiesel fuel being present in a light oil diesel-biodiesel blend with a percentage of biodiesel greater than 7%, in which this percentage of biodiesel higher than 7% causes an increase in the viscosity of the mixture, the increase in viscosity negatively affecting the cold start of the engine; the method reduces the biodiesel concentration to below 7% in the starting phase of the engine, the reduction in concentration being achieved by adding light oil diesel to the light oil diesel-biodiesel blend.
A CLOSED CYCLE COMBUSTION SYSTEM FOR ENDOTHERMIC ENGINES
The present invention concerns a closed cycle combustion system for endothermic engines M, comprising: Means Z for filtering combustion air entering in endothermic engines M; Means A for molecular re-aggregation of the oxygen supplied by said means Z and entering in endothermic engines M; Tanks T for fuels or composite mixtures for feeding endothermic engines M; Means E for producing oxygen and hydrogen; Means I for the introduction into endothermic engines M of fuels or composite mixtures from tanks T, together with oxygen and hydrogen from said means E; Means R for exhaust gases recovery released by endothermic engines M and for the partial reintroduction of said exhaust gases into combustion or reaction chambers of said endothermic engines M; Means RD for cooling the exhaust gases reintroduced into said combustion or reaction chambers of said endothermic engines M; Means C1 and C2 for filtering the exhaust gases released from endothermic engines M, and supplied by means R; Means for confining the polluting substances obtained from the filtering of said exhaust gases released from said endothermic engines M, supplied by said means R.
