09970363 · 2018-05-15 ·

The invented system adds some petrol fuel to the vehicle engine which runs with natural gas (CNG or LPG). It causes a simultaneous combustion of petrol and natural gas (CNG or LPG). This action decreases depreciation of engine, increases power of the engine and reduces fuel consumption in natural gas vehicles. The above-mentioned system consists of an innovative petrol holder storage, an electronically circuit, a relay, a lever micro switch and a petrol fuel injector. Whenever the accelerator pedal is pressed more than a certain amount, the system will be activated and command to inject petrol collected in the storage into the air manifold.

A dual-fuel injection system having a combustion gas-supply device and a liquid fuel-supply device, including a combustion gas-injector unit with a liquid fuel-control part and a gas nozzle part, to which combustion gas can be supplied. The stroke of a gas nozzle needle of the combustion gas-injector unit can be controlled by liquid fuel supplied to the liquid fuel-control part. The combustion gas-injector unit defines a leakage collecting space, via which a leakage path is lead, the leakage path extending from the liquid fuel-control part into the gas nozzle part. The dual-fuel injection system has a pressure-regulating device, by which a defined pressure level can be set in the leakage collecting space. An implementation method using such a dual-fuel injection system is also proposed.

Dual fuel common rail engine with co-axial quill assembly

A dual fuel common rail engine supplies pressurized natural gas and liquid diesel fuel at different pressures through a co-axial quill assembly for direct injection from a single fuel injector into an engine cylinder. Pressure waves in the gaseous fuel common rail are damped in a pressure damping chamber of the co-axial quill assembly to promote consistent gaseous fuel injection rates and quantities from the fuel injector.

Method and apparatus for fuel regulation

A method for fuel regulation during a non-motoring operating mode of an internal combustion engine is provided. A fuel regulator employs a first fuel to regulate pressure of a second fuel. The first fuel is communicated to the fuel regulator through a first fuel circuit. The method comprises actuating a fuel injector that introduces the first fuel and the second fuel into a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine during the non-motoring operating mode. The fuel injector is actuated with an injection command signal having a pulse width below a predetermined maximum value whereby no fuel is injected into the combustion chamber and the first fuel drains from the first fuel circuit through the fuel injector to a supply tank.

Methods and systems are providing for improving zero flow lubrication (ZFL) of a high pressure fuel pump coupled to direct fuel injectors via a direct injection fuel rail. A ZFL transfer function for the fuel pump is learned while fuel is at non-nominal fuel bulk modulus conditions and corrected for variations from a nominal fuel bulk modulus estimate. When zero flow lubrication of the pump is requested, the pump is operated with a duty cycle based on the learned transfer function and an instantaneous estimate of the fuel bulk modulus to compensate for differences in fuel condition from the nominal fuel bulk modulus estimate.
