ABNORMALITY DIAGNOSTIC METHOD FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE AND ABNORMALITY DIAGNOSTIC DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
During a predetermined operation state in which the opening degree of a throttle valve is fixed, an air flow meter positioned more on the upstream side than a pressure control valve detects a first intake air amount when the opening degree of the pressure control valve positioned on the upstream side of the throttle valve is set to a predetermined first valve opening degree and a second intake air amount when the opening degree of the pressure control valve is set to a predetermined second valve opening degree smaller than the first valve opening degree. On the basis of the first intake air amount and the second intake air amount, a diagnosis is made regarding whether there is an abnormality in a first pipe, a second pipe, a third pipe and the like which are included in a blow-by gas recirculation system for blow-by gas treatment.

Control device for vehicle and control method for vehicle
A controller includes a control unit which is configured to execute a coast stop control. The coast stop control is configured to perform automatic stopping of the drive source while the vehicle is traveling, when a permitting condition is satisfied, the permitting condition including a condition that a speed ratio R of the variator is lower than a first threshold R1 while the lock-up clutch is in an engaged phase. The control unit is configured to prohibit execution of the coast stop control in a case in which an input-output rotation speed difference of the torque converter is equal to or more than a predetermined value when the lock-up clutch is in the engaged phase.
System and method for reducing driver awareness of engine stoppage by a vehicle
Systems and methods for reducing driver awareness of engine stoppage by a vehicle are disclosed herein. In an embodiment, the system includes a stop-start mechanism in communication with an engine operable to cause movement of the vehicle, the stop-start mechanism programmed to shut off the engine at a beginning of a nonoperational period and restart the engine at an end of the nonoperational period. The system also includes a vibration device triggered to cause at least one vehicle component to vibrate when the stop-start mechanism shuts off the engine at the beginning of the nonoperational period, and triggered to cease causing the at least one vehicle component to vibrate when the stop-start mechanism restarts the engine at the end of the nonoperational period.
Gas engine heat pump and method of operating the same
A gas engine heat pump is provided including an engine having an ignition plug, a compressor connected to the engine, a mixer that mixes air and fuel and supplies the mixture to the engine, a zero governor having a valve that regulates the fuel supplied to the mixer, a throttle valve disposed between the mixer and the engine to regulate a flow of the mixture to the engine, and a controller. Upon receiving a command to stop running the engine, the controller changes a target number of revolutions of the engine, controls an opening degree of the valve based on the target number of revolutions if a current number of revolutions of the engine exceeds a first reference number, and controls the ignition plug to stop igniting if the current number of revolutions of the engine reaches a second reference number which is lower than the first reference number.

When a specified engine stop condition is satisfied, a fuel cut is performed to stop a fuel supply into a plurality of cylinders by the injector. After the fuel cut, the intake VVT is controlled such that a retarded amount of the intake valve close timing immediately before a stop of a stop-time compression stroke cylinder as a cylinder stopped in a compression stroke from intake bottom dead center is larger than a retarded amount of the intake valve close timing immediately before a stop of a stop-time expansion stroke cylinder as a cylinder stopped in an expansion stroke from the intake bottom dead center.
