Systems and methods for EVAP leak testing
Methods and systems are provided for regulating evaporative emissions from a fuel system. In one example, a method may comprise spinning an engine unfueled responsive to a hydrocarbon concentration at a fresh air end of a fuel vapor canister increasing above a first threshold. The method may comprise spinning the engine to pull hydrocarbons away until a hydrocarbon concentration at a purge end of the fuel vapor canister, opposite the fresh air end, increases above a second threshold.
Vehicle control device
Provided is a vehicle control device configured to suppress power to be consumed by an arithmetic device while the vehicle operation is stopped, and to diagnose the operation frequency of the timer for abnormality. The vehicle control device of the present invention allows the bandpass filter to convert the operation frequency of the timer into the voltage value. The holding circuit holds the value corresponding to the converted voltage value. The arithmetic device diagnoses whether or not the timer has been normally operated using the voltage value held in the holding circuit.
Fuel vapor pressure detection by bi-directional pump
Systems and method for determining a Reid vapor pressure of a fuel system using a bi-directional pump of the fuel system. The determined Reid vapor pressure is compared to reference Reid vapor pressures to identify the presence of, and size of, a leak in the fuel system.
EVAPORATIVE FUEL PROCESSING DEVICE
A control device transmits an opening degree command amount to an actuator to command an opening degree of a sealing valve. The control device sets a pressure difference between a tank-side pressure and a canister-side pressure to a specified value or more. The control device causes a pressure variable device to change the canister-side pressure to form a state in which the pressure difference becomes equal to or higher than a specified value while the sealing valve is closed. The control device learns a valve opening start amount based on the opening degree command amount when the tank-side pressure changes in response to the opening degree command amount that gradually increases from zero. The control device determines the opening degree command amount based on the valve opening start amount, which has been learned.
METHOD FOR DETECTING VALVE LEAKAGE IN A COMBUSTION ENGINE
A method for detecting valve leakage of a least one valve at a cylinder intake manifold or exhaust manifold of a vehicle engine, the method comprising: acquiring a set of pressure data points indicative of the pressure in the cylinder intake manifold or exhaust manifold for crankshaft angular positions covering crankshaft angular rotation degrees such that each of the at least one valve has opened at least one time; and determining at least one test value based on the set of pressure data points, wherein a valve leakage is detected based on a comparison of the at least one test value to a threshold value.
METHOD FOR ANALYZING A FLUID, A DEVICE FOR THIS PURPOSE THAT INCLUDES MEANS FOR CARRYING OUT THE METHOD, AND A COMPUTER PROGRAM THAT EFFECTUATES CARRYING OUT THE METHOD BY THE DEVICE
A method for analyzing a fluid that flows from a chamber, in particular a combustion chamber, of an internal combustion engine into a fluid guide. The internal combustion engine includes at least one element, in particular an injector, for the supply of fuel. The analysis takes place with the aid of a sensor, in particular a lambda sensor, on which the fluid in the fluid guide acts. The analysis takes place during cranking of the internal combustion engine, and the fluid acting on the sensor is not influenced by fuel that is supplied in a controlled manner.
Vapor purge system having venturi hose-off detection capability
An vapor purge system for a turbocharged internal combustion engine having an evaporative emissions turbo purge valve incorporating a venturi vacuum generator and a hose-off detection function. The turbo purge valve includes a pressure sensor, and a low restriction check valve which is integrated into the outlet port of the venturi vacuum generator. The pressure sensor is capable of detecting the small pressure drop (i.e., vacuum) generated at the air inlet tube or air box during naturally aspirated conditions. The check valve closes the venturi vacuum generator on the purge side during naturally aspirated conditions, allowing fluid communication to the air intake system through one port only, and the detection of the vacuum during these conditions. If a hose becomes detached, either at the outlet port of the venturi vacuum generator or at the air box, the small vacuum is not detected, and the ECU then diagnoses the hose-off condition.
Leakage diagnosis supplement method for failure of vacuum pump using active purge pump and leakage diagnosis supplement system for failure of vacuum pump using active purge pump
A leakage diagnosis supplement method for a failure of a vacuum pump using an active purge pump may include: determining whether or not the vacuum pump mounted on a vent line between a canister and an atmosphere fails; reverse-rotating the active purge pump mounted on a purge line connecting the canister and an intake pipe to each other; determining whether or not an absolute value of internal pressure in a fuel tank is less than a specific value; and checking a leakage in the fuel system including the canister and the fuel tank.
